This is too much already... Before the success of Double Fine... they've stated that they are going well with this... and suddenly ...bam ...Kickstarter
Was going to post a thread about this, fortunately I looked before.

I'm not very familiar with kickstarter projects so, about the 400.000$ goal, do you think it's easy to achieve? And enough money to make a decent game? I mean compared to other kickstarters, I honestly have no clue.

They will make it, but this can't be enough (they probably got their own money too).

And I think it's good, as soon they will hear some of us asking for "drm-free" and gog, and maybe they start asking why no 1 & 2 on gog.
Yup I just backed it - and am posting about GOG ;)
You'll get the released game, to download from Steam.
Steamcrap ? Fuck .
In their intro video they mention they've already spent a lot of money on the game, so this more about taking the opportunity to get extra funding.

I backed it, I'm sure it'll be a decent game, even if it's just like Carmageddon 1 but with better graphics.

Maybe we can convince them to bring it to GOG later on the backer only forums ;)

The estimate to finish is February 2013 ... a lot can happen between now and then ;)
Yeah, I have been posting about them bringing 1 and 2 to gog (as have others on their forum), as a way of giving them more money for the game (this was before the kickstarter was even thought of), and they didnt seem very interested.
I REALLY hope we can talk them into it.
:)
I thought that this was being developed by the original team behind the first two? As in the team based on the Isle of Wight, UK? If so how are they doing a US-only Kickstarter?
Will add my 25$ pledge shortly.
I feel the urge to do that since i've played all 4 games (including TDR 2000 which was not by SCI and Splat Pack).

And everyone who has enjoyed the game should do that!

YEEEEEEEEEES!!!

Send them a PM. I already did. If we bug them enough, they'll see the light. Same with Spaceventure. Spread the gospel of GOG and DRM-free.

You just need one person with US address to run kickstarter.

Well I just sent a polite message to them through kickstarter - as well as posting on the backer page - pointing out the benefits of having GOG to the testing and support work (ie no effort to them for a reasonable shot at decent income), how much slashdot and reddit would go nuts for this and how it would drum up a nice buzz for their kickstarter campaign.....

With any luck they might at least message TheEngimaticT or another at GOG and who knows? Something might come of it :)

Not a bad idea.
"Release the game in a DRM-free form on GOG along with the previous installments in the series, or else!"
