Mercurionio: Well, fucking, done.

In Belarus ordinary people live in a 4th Reich. So, instead of allowing us to buy games and send some of it cost to Ukranian people as a donate, you decide to completely cut us off.

Geniuos, you fuckers.

When Belarusian people tried to get rid of their Hitler, nobody gave a fuck about that. People were beatten, tortured and killed by armed bloodthirsty mercs. Nobody cared about that.

So CDPR just decided to kill all Belarusians, who can't leave that country.
Thank, fucking, you. Bloody racists.
It seems Poland is blocking travel of black Ukranians to their country - people who are trying to escape the dangers of war - literally they are being blocked/pushed off trains in Ukraine, allowing only white people on.
Racist indeed.

Please add me to the list. Games should be used to unite people, not to push them away from each other.

darthspudius: Why is Russia bad but China is good?
Putin declared open season on western Europe, in broad daylight, and Poland has high chances of being the next target (either us or Finland, Moldova, or any of the Baltic countries (like Lithuania). China, while still generally bad, still wears its white gloves and doesn't do thing in the open as much.

Perhaps. The sanctions are needed though, as ultimately all buisness with the Russians will end up funding their war machine, which is a very real threat as we can now witness. And they lost a lot more than their ability to buy video games during the last couple of days.

Where did you obtain such information? Cause this is a blatant lie, propagated by russian hackers. Such news (and similar) already spread over the internet yesterday and were quickly verified to be disinformation aimed at the Ukrainian refugees to scare them from coming to Poland in fear of persecution.
I would think that a person from USA would understand what those russian hackers are capable of after the things that happened during the presidental elections...

Be honest. It is not you who boycotts GOG.

GOG boycotts you instead. You've never been given a choice. GOG showed us our place (near a litter bucket): are you Russian? GTFO! Want your right to spend money here back? You know what to do (start a bloody revolt and raise arms against your government, probably being killed in the process) and maybe (no promises!) GOG allows you to purchase games again.

He hasn't went to war with Western Europe. He's sorting out a problem that Nato, a meddling America and an overly cocky Ukraine started. He's also bringing water back to Crimea, which Ukraine oh so innocently blocked out of spite. There's then the problems with the two independent states that Ukraine have been blasting (in multiple ways) since 2014. He's got EVERY right to take it to Ukraine. They've done some seriously questionable stuff since the coup. With NATO breaking their promise not to expand to their borders and America poking their nose where it shouldn't be, I'd be right pissed off too.

I won't even go there, because this will get banned in a moment anyway. Im just gonna say this: I don't agree with one thing you said.

Besides aren't you advocating for Russia to be unbanned? Innocent russian citizens won't be able to buy their games and such?
But at the same time you say that anyone has the right to conduct genocide over an entire nation (where we can assume, that most of the citizens are not to blame for anything), because stuff happend in 2014...? Get your story straight mate.

Don't forget the Minsk Agreement signed by Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE (Swiss Diplomat), aided by the Normandy Front that Ukraine violated.

Many are reporting on it. I'm reading multiple articles from The Independent as we speak.
This isn't some crack pot story, like the "Ghost of Kiev".

You're going to have to try and fool someone else, man. I'm well aware now what's been going on out there for the last 8 years.

Pretty stupid to involve yourself in the war, GOG. Pretty stupid indeed

Syphon72: You must be boycotting a lot of companies. I do not agree with what GOG doing but knowing Poland and Russia's history I'm not surprised they're doing it.

Edit: I thought steam ban Russia from something as well? I see Reddit making multiple topics saying ban Russia.
From past night we can't purchase anything in steam. Maybe it's not Steam decision, these are consequences of disconnecting from SWIFT or something like this. Ironically, I wanted to buy the Witcher 3, when I saw the message that credit cards are not supported

That's not what he said, and you should be more careful with the words you use. "Genocide" has a very specific meaning and you can't use it to bolster your weak arguments. Also, it's not some "stuff that happened in 2014", it was a repeated violation of an agreement meant to keep American warheads away from the Russian border.
You should also read up on what the nice Ukrainian government has been doing since 2014: you could start with Odessa and then follow that up with the violence and intimidation perpetrated by paramilitary extremists (wearing actual swastikas), against Russian-speaking Ukrainians.
Personally I'm sick and tired ot those North-American bullies and our very own European guard-dogs and until GOG unbans Russians, or alternatively bans all Americans for the crimes of their country (to this day the only country to use not one but two nuclear bombs on innocent civilians), I won't spend a dime on here.

Since you didn't quote your sources i had to google it myself.
From what I read - if this is indeed true, the problems were on Ukraine side, not Polish. You said Polish people were blocking black Ukrainians, which so far no one can really confirm.

On a side note, there were talks from residents of polish border cities of black citizens of Ukraine stealing from and raping women in trains and on the stations. Is this true? No, probably not at least. There was a video of a dark skinned man mugging a polish shop and attacking the owners with a knife. Again - a completely dif video taken out of context in hopes of promoting false information and playing on people's fears. But I don't propegate such stuff, as this is probably only gonna make things worse, and doubtfully true anyway.

If its not genocide today, it will be in a week or two, so I stand by my opinion.
As far as I'm concerned he did say "Putin has EVERY right" to do what he is doing there, and you are wrong - he does not. It's not his country. Shooting at kindergardens and hospitals? Using a thermobaric bomb?
(also is this really your 1st post since 2015... russian bot!?)

Enough... I'm leaving this topic. It got disgustingly political (which I srsly don't want to get into) and whitewashy in favor of Putins actions.

I will leave you with this thought though:
If we are all so highly in favor of the freedom for everyone and similar values, you have to take both the bad with the good (as with almost anything in this world). As such you need to accept that a free company in a democracy has every right, if it so desires, to withdraw from any market it chooses, for any reason it might possibly have. GOG used that right. Simple.

fronzelneekburm: Fucking disgusting.

Ordinary people didn't make the choice to start this war, just as ordinary people are powerless to change it. Yet they're the ones being punished. Somehow I don't think Putin or his generals have gog accounts. What I will speak out against is the absolutely baffling level of discrimination that Russians are facing at the moment and the warp-speed descent into totalitarianism of the West. I would have thought that the very idea of punishing the citizens of a country for having a screwy leadership would be utterly replusive to anyone who believes in the alleged values of the self-appointed "free world" (thankfully, the negative reactions on this forum show me that not everybody has completely lost it at this point).

Special thanks to Red Candle Games and the gog webdev team who botched the site redesign in 2018. If it weren't for you guys I'd probably have kept buying games here like a moron, and I'd have serious buyer's remorse right around now.

avatar
pazZzurro: I should add that I agree with the bans on Russia, cause many of the citizens of that country are blinded and need a good wake-up call (which was already proved multiple times).

fronzelneekburm: Actions like this aren't going to wake up anyone. If anything, this will make ordinary people hate the West even more.
100% correct. This is why Afghanistan went so bad for the United States. Who would have thought pushing gender studies, LGBT or other crazy western left ideas on Afghanistan would turn out well. It just made them hate us more.

I only want to say that I 100% agree with you. It's a genocide, a terrible war of invasion, started by putin the dictator and I cannot believe that another italian like me can defend putin like it was under russian propaganda...
In any free country people should be able to understand on their own that there is no excuse for what putin is doing right now to Ukrainans.

International law is pretty clear on this. Self-defence is a right as long as it doesn't severely impact another country ability to self-defence. An American warhead 5 minutes from Moscow goes beyond what's allowed. When the Soviet Union tried the very same thing with Cuba in '62, the Americans defended themselves and they had every right to do so.

Such a classic move. No, the reason it's my first post it's because I don't waste my time on a videogames storefront's forum. I made an exception after reading about what GOG did, I just couldn't sanction this level of stupidity.

I gladly do without it if it means being a fascist happy with an invasion of a free country.
That said, just read your comment to understand who has a brain and who doesn't.

And after all why amaze me, in the past there were partisans and those enlisted with the Nazis / Fascists in the republic of Salò. The resistance against the fascists. In the end, nothing has changed.
