Well done GOG for finally following everyone else in not putting up with what is going on. Please ignore the poor hard done by Russians who cant get a decent days ransomwaring done because of all these people complaining about dying under their bombs. I have been boycotting since Nov 2020 however for this one decision alone I shall buy Elex 2 (think that is the most expensive release at the moment) to help shore up any losses you may have due to this decision!

You must be boycotting a lot of companies. I do not agree with what GOG doing but knowing Poland and Russia's history I'm not surprised they're doing it.

If posts like these will keep on appearing this topic is gonna get closed too, they are banning all posts/topics going into the political direction. This is hypocrisy, because in times such as these they are making a statement themselves but want to forbid the users to do so as well.

You can't try to pretend that you are uniting everyone, speaking up for Ukraine but trying to keep your user base quiet at the same time. You either want to move the masses, or you don't.


I should add that I agree with the bans on Russia, cause many of the citizens of that country are blinded and need a good wake-up call (which was already proved multiple times). Belarus on the other hand i feel for... they actually tried to fight their oppresors and the the way it ended... was not pretty

I'm partially boycotting GOG, I really dislike punishing whole groups of people for the decisions they didn't themselves make. Especially without warning. I'm also concerned deeply at the president this sets and the hypocrisy.

What about peoples choice to stay out of politics?

I will only buy selected games from now on and think hard about it before I do. This is my little bit of help for people just wanting to live their life and not get caught up in conflict.

It's two sets of standards (there's been plenty of invasions and atrocities committed during GOG's history, and no action of this kind was ever taken), self-contradictory (don't talk politics in our community, but here's politics for you) and utterly misguided (as they themselves admit in their jumbled kumbaya of a statement).

I get that there's no love lost between Russia and Poland, and that the new GOG is more interested in getting progressive brownie points than in providing its customers the type of service that sets it apart and justifies its existence, but in the long run this will only hurt them.

Ordinary people didn't make the choice to start this war, just as ordinary people are powerless to change it. Yet they're the ones being punished. Somehow I don't think Putin or his generals have gog accounts. What I will speak out against is the absolutely baffling level of discrimination that Russians are facing at the moment and the warp-speed descent into totalitarianism of the West. I would have thought that the very idea of punishing the citizens of a country for having a screwy leadership would be utterly replusive to anyone who believes in the alleged values of the self-appointed "free world" (thankfully, the negative reactions on this forum show me that not everybody has completely lost it at this point).

Special thanks to Red Candle Games and the gog webdev team who botched the site redesign in 2018. If it weren't for you guys I'd probably have kept buying games here like a moron, and I'd have serious buyer's remorse right around now.
