Ja, AoW1 refugees only join those of similar alignment. Except for machines with alignment set to None - those will still join as long as there's a unit with the correct alignment with them. However Air Galleys aren't aligned to None, but rather they're aligned to Neutral. Probably a dev oversight in my opinion. Dwarven ballons aren't Good. Undead machines are Pure Evil, but then again, they're made of bone.

In future games on the map it is intended for everyone to have an air galley once they can get a rebuilder down to repair the teleporter to bring it out of its fiery cave.

That should work as long as one of the players isn't Undead. Undead + Neutral, etc. High Men work with Humans, so High Men are fine.

Machines don't have morale even when they have alignment. Their alignment only precludes/enables recruitment, and can make stackmates of opposing alignment unhappy. An Air galley will be loyal to anyone... once it's under their control at least.

I am fair sure air galleys actually will reduce the morale of highmen or undead station with them, in the same way that neutral or good units are unhappy about bone rams and skull throwers.

This game hates me. I had a no medal archer shoot past a 3 defense boar, trying to lower the archer's accuracy to weaken the boar just a little more. Only a 25% chance of the boar 'blocking' either arrow, and then the arrow has to get past the boar's defense. Naturally, both arrows hit, killing the boar and stealing the XP.
