This world plays tricks with one's memory. Who am I? The title I've been attributed doesn't shed much light on the mystery: Azrac of the Azracs, that sounds more like a riddle than a name... Thankfully, the neighbours that were taken with me to the mystic circle seem friendly enough, especially given that fate seems to have given them much heavier troops to start their journey with. This is indeed a relief.

I move on and find some cavalry in a small town that helps me liberate a naval yard. A sea journey might well make my inner voyage more focussed, if not necessarily more successful...

i've reinstalled the game in the meanwhile, hopefully this doesn't create more issues...
Took a town and walked to some ruins which, of course, are explored already. How nice!

Now I somehow have the Orc turn.

jyri: Now I somehow have the Orc turn.
The turn hasn't passed through me yet so I guess the dwarves have replied to you rather than forwarding to the orcs - if the turn number corresponds just forward to southern... Unless this might be considered bad pbem etiquette?
Oh bugger, I forgot to name the leaders and I put too many item-lairs in without adding extra custom items, so some are empty.

Anyway, Orcs, Day 2

What's the deal with people receiving the wrong turn?

That... Shouldn't be possible, as jyri already played the lizards so I must have sent correctly from my (azracs') mailout after turn 2 end.

:-?

Yeah sorry I did play the Orc turn. Just wrote the wrong thing in my post!
Can't believe I created a naming rubrick for each race and painstakingly named the 173 cities on the map, only to forget to give the Leaders names. So embarrassing.
I forwarded the Orc turn, Southern you probably received and played that. Seems it was like Arnuz suggested and the Dwarves replied to me instead of forwarding their turn to you, or perhaps they did both.

Azrac of the Azracs, day 3

Who were the giants that inhabited this place once upon a time? Ruins upon ruins I encounter in my trips, my scouts reporting of similar findings... Suddenly life! Halflings, in throngs in walled cities. They don't let us in, and we have to move onwards...

;-p

I've counted six in the Lizards area already.

I'm a third of the way through making my own item list file - two named items for every item graphic. Since the base game doesn't use every item graphic, that'll be about three times as many items. Then I'll have my own item set which I can paste into every map I make.

I assume it is definitely a lack of items that causes this?

That seems the most likely answer.

An easy test: make a quick test map with one cave for each item you have, then add one more cave.
I thought that the empty ruins were intentional to make the map look like an abandoned place at first! I found that to build atmosphere......Then I saw all the halfling towns ^_^'

If yiou fill up all those ruins with objects won't you recreate super-heroes?

Southern likes super heroes. :)

There is a something of a limit on the power that can be acquired from items, what with carrying limits and limited slots. As long as he doesn't go too crazy in his new items (I really, really want that ring you built for Jyri in Xelm Plateau!), it might be fine.
