GG all, thanks for the game.

Some figures:
- I've reached 5649 mana, then used some to repeatedly altar the lizard leader at the end.
- I've held all the cities in the deep for the entire match. This proved to be the key to winning. The short lived alliance with the dwarves is what let me reinforce the position, it would have been an interesting battle if he didn't accept this, but I think he wasn't ready with much forces to try to wrestle "the vault".
- With this mana I've almost researched every spell, 6-7 missing. I was just pouring everything in research as the rest is converted to mana automatically, and researching lvl 4 spells in 1 turn.
- For most of the game I've had only 2 heroes, the third one I've had for 2-3 turns only and the second one came latish too. I sent him to the deep to help hold it and explore the treasures. Argh at the dwarves spell-stealing both remaining lvl 5 casters!! :D

southern: they are even building roads, and they somehow acquired an Air Galley.
Yes, roads were essential with such a large empire and enchanted roads. I've connected most isolated tracts of road, sending cavalry from everywhere to the battle. I've built a road till one of the two close by caves that bring down to the dwarves after lowering terrain on the mountain protecting it. Still facing logistical problems due to mostly inexperience, there's been a huge traffic jam on the rock between 2 lava branches in the caverns since the missed war with the goblins. I should have disbanded all of that, I gather that I've paid 500-1000 gold in maintenance for nothing there.

The Goblins raiding my capital's farms at the start almost prevented the air galleys. I converted that city to humans as first thing, having another human city, and started upgrading it immediately. Quite an investment in money and time! But the galleys proved invaluable, for logistics especially in the caves.

I'm surprised that all the others didn't try more to go for the deep. There's so much mana there that it gives you an incredible advantage. More if you have spellcasters to use it
