larkinflight: I have a double sided WC4 DVD but I can't play it under Windows XP.
What's your exact problem with WC4? My old 6CD version works without any problems, even without compatibility mode.

BTW, If WC4 will be released, I think there will be MoO2-like situation - it will contain Windows version (which works on my Vista 32-bit), but the default game shortcut will launch DOS version.

Maybe I will pay few bucks in order to avoid disc swapping? I bought WC3 yesterday. :)

The DVD version of Wing Commander 4 is meant to work with a hardware DVD decoder, as PCs in that day didn't have the power to decode the DVD video themselves. You can patch it, though. http://www.wcnews.com/news/showupdate.php?id=5426
Wing Commander 4 was my favorite of the series and I hope it will be available here soon.

If it's the DVD version with improved videos, it will truly be a day 1 buy for me!

It was also my favourite game of the series, although I really loved Privateer 2 as well.

me too, one of my favourite games of all time
/signed Sign me up for a day one release! WCIV was my hands-down favourite. The Dragon remains my favourite fighter from any game or science fiction.
Count me in! I loved WC4 and Privateer 2 and still do. I would really like to see them available here on GOG. I have a Win 95 version of Privateer 2 that I can`t get to work and my WC4 is long gone unfortunately.

I just bought WC3 & am loving playing it again... great memories of my youth!!

I have both the original WC3 & WC4 MS-DOS versions but didn't have the patience to go through all the settings for dosbox. It would be AWESOME if GOG could release WC4 as it is my favorite (but I've never played the DVD release version).

Like many others have said, I would buy it on Day 1 of it's release too!!

Thanks GOG!!!
