Keep freezing and sometime crashing to desktop , happening after 3-4 mins :/

i5 4570 gtx970
Me too
It crashes/freeze up on my inventory screen no matter what window setting you choose, Windowed, Borderless Fullscreen or fullscreen, all 3 crashes on my desktop... I'm going to go play some other game now until there is a patch that will fix this HIGHLY FRUSTRATING issue.
I've had it freeze with inventory and bestiary. Inventory was out of the blue and bestiary was on the first time I opened it (with pop up help enabled).

Win 7 x64, 16gb ram.
I'm 8 hours into the game. For some dumb reason I messed with my settings. I now am getting the freezes in the inventory screen like you guys have described. I changed my settings back how I thought I had them before, and am still getting inventory freezes, no matter what settings I change.

It was running great... but now I think I'll wait for a patch. The game is so addicting it's cutting into my life too much already anyway.
I have the some problem. Playing with Xbox One-Controller and while in inventory screen freezes sometimes while the music keeps playing. More annoying is, that if i have fullscreen, i cant tab out and force exit the game with taskmanager, i had to restart the whole machine 2, 3 times.
Had this too.
Set the Frame Limit to unlimited instead of 60 and it seems to work. Other Options: Vsync off / Borderless Window
(possible Workaround till Patch?)
Will test it some more after work.
I saw two threads on other sites, where people mentioned turning off controller vibration in options seemed to get rid of the inventory crashes for them. They were playing keyboard+mouse, with no controller. I don't know why that would cause the game to crash, but I tried turning off controller vibration as well. I played about 6 hours of TW3 today, without any crashes or other issues.

+1 freezing in inventory.
But it seems there were a problem. If the frequency of video memory falls below 325mhz (MSI afterburner) the game freezes.
I do not know who is there and what is tested but my gtx970 hangs often.
Same, sadly. Can't get past the first bit in Vizima as it crashes.
Same here
It would be very nice to have a patch because the game is almost not playable. And it's very sad because i like what i played ...
This happened to me during the pick-one-set-of-clothes scene in Vizima right before the audience. The game freezes while dressing in the inventory screen. It only happens if you take longer than a certain amount of time. I had to rush through this part to work around that bug.
The music is still playing in the background but the game needs to be force-killed.

What i have discovered is that in those screen, the gpu goes in idle, and the engine doesn't like it.

If CD-Project can see this, Check that!!!!!!
I disabled MSI Afterburner and I was able to play without freezing for hours. I thought that was the solution. Then the game started freezing during new cutscenes again but now it brought a friend- a CTD at one point.

However, I did noticed an interesting notification popping out at the taskbar right after the CTD. I can't clearly recall what it said but the gist of it is that Windows detected that the Nvidia/Kernel/something failed but the driver had recovered successfully. Sorry if it's rather vague but hope this will help. I was still using an old(pre-GTAV) Nvidia driver at the time. I have updated to the latest driver now but still encountered a freeze or two during new cutscenes.
This is happening to me also game stops responding when in the inventory screen. Its seriously annoying and requires a task manager shutdown and then re start the game client.

PLEASE FIX IT!!
