I relented and installed the Windows version. It works. If anyone knows who made the port to report this please reply.
The only thing it shows is that it CRASHED for YOU.
It DOES NOT prove "this port is borked for 100% of people".
There are probably steps you could've taken to bypass that problem.
Besides, it ( native Linux port ) works for SOME people.

There's really no such thing as "universal system baseline" in the NIX world.
Anyone can have different setup, with different set of packages. That's why it's MANDATORY to provide a list of necessary packages in software ( games too! ) requirements, so that people can prepare.
As all things NIX, your mileage will vary.
But blatantly implying "this doesn't work for ME, therefore it doesn't work for ANYONE" is just uncalled for...
