I'm completly disapointed, CroTeam...

shylock.596: I received an email response from Croteam about the matter:

"if and when we have any news on the Linux version of Talos on GOG we'll announce it via our usual channels."

So basically it's a "no" without the guts to actually say "no". No reasoning given either.
Yeah, that's a really disappointing response. I won't be buying it on GOG until they release the native Linux version. I mean, they have a Linux port - how difficult can it possibly be to drop the installer files on GOG?
@shylock: I am more positive about those words. "If" is neutral, but can sound more NO than YES in this context, of course. Instead, "when" is affirmative, as the rest of the sentence. So, no reason to be pessimist at all. Developers always try to avoid pressure from users, to work quietly, and usually give ambiguous answers to avoid generating expectations. Anyway, thanks for share that information.
+1 for the Linux version.

Wishlisting but not buying until the Linux version is offered on GOG.
I just came here to buy the Linux version too. Odd.
And my axe! I just heard about this game, disappointed the Linux version isn't on GOG yet, let's hope it drops soon!
Weird. Steam had a native mac and Linux build for years, 64 bit, no wine. Linux version runs really smooth with vulkan enabled. I would actually pay again for a DRM-free version from here, but NOT if that one is Windows-only.
Hi.

I'm new around here, does anyone know if it's common for these missing releases to be eventually added (they're available on Steam, shouldn't be anything exceptional...)? It's on sale at 90%, but it's only worth it to me if there is slight chance of being released for mac or linux.

Gog doesn't do that very often. However Talos game is regularly on 90% sale, so if Gog ever ports it to Linux (I hope it happens one day, though I'm pretty sure Gog doesn't care, see https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=linux), you would soon have it cheap.

Why would GOG port it to Linux ? That isn't their reponsibility. This is the issue here, THERE ALREADY IS A LINUX PORT IN EXISTENCE and the blame lies with Croteam for not wanting to submit it to GOG to have it for sale. GOG has zero blame here, they can't force the publisher to give them something if they don't want to.

Right I made a mistake saying Gog should port it, that's not their job, you are right. But I'm still wondering whose fault is it that so many games on Gog have no linux release, only windows, though the linux version exists elsewhere? Take tower57, cat lady, qube or limbo for example.

I certainly won't answer this question.
But I will counter it with:
How does it speak of GOG if they not care about Linux to the point of removing any mention of "we will work on it eventually" on all Galaxy pages in reagards to Linux native client?
It's not like I particularly care about using Galaxy in general. And considering it's probably closed code I would not want to use it.
But imo it speaks volumes about GOG's attitude.
There's certainly a very noticable discrepancy in attitude of GOG's in regards to different platforms.

When some Linux gamers made death threats against developers for a poor Witcher 2 port maybe it changed their priorities. Windows gamers get away with that crap because they're 90% of the PC market. We can't pull that stunt because they will just stop caring as they have.
