I just completed Under a Killing Moon, and can't wait for these two to be released. I really do hope Overseer is the DVD version as the FMV looks a whole lot better!
Surely if they have problems with DVDExpress they could just take the DVD version rip-out all the footage and stick it within the CD counterpart.
I am no programmer but it should be possible
On my copy of Overseer, it would only run with the creative mpeg-2 decoder card. tried it later with software, still no luck. I didnt play around enough to see if it was a fault on my side, so who knows.... heres hoping it is the high res verison!
After looking at some screen shots to compare the two, its DVD or bust for me. In comparison, the low-resolution version looks pretty ugly.

The videos in the cd version of Overseer is pretty much the same resolution as in Pandora Directive. But from what I understand, they are trying to get the dvd version to work, so let's all keep our fingers crossed.
I already have the cd version of Oveseer running smoothly from hd, so I guess it's DVD or bust for me as well. Knowing there is a better version out there would sting a bit.

If people can run their physical CD version well on modern setups, then a non-DVD release will definitely be less appealing to prospective buyers.
I'd also like to have the best version available. Hopefully, GoG team can work it out. I have faith. :-)

Ye, the cd version is actually pretty stable, excpet from some midi related lock-ups that can be bypassed by simply disabling the midi device.
I have the DVD version and have been able to play through it on a modern desktop, though it froze from time to time. It would be nice to have a smoothly running, easy to install edition:)

Video in Overseer CD-version is much worse than Pandora, I just checked both... (my own Pandora CD's under DOSBox that is, but I don't think that matters much)
That's why I would happily pay double for the DVD-quality (though I'd rather not of course) but definitely won't buy the CD-version - my CD's work fine under XP
I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed if that helps
Same here... Please, please! DVD version!
Judging from the screenshots on the game's page it looks like the CD version (interlaced video). A shame.
Yes, but they are trying to get the DVD version to work, so we will just have to wait and see.
Hello, folks! Any news about the release? Is there some hint about when it is coming out? Regards!
i was very, very lucky, enough to grab myself the DVD version of Overseer at a thirft store for the low low price of 50 cents. It's not that hard to get to work, you just have to install an old software DVD decoder that works great and it'll crash on ya but there are savegames that you can get that bypass the crashes.Definitely worth it as the video quality is waaaaaay better than the old Smacker codec they used for the CD version.

So, it's the cd version after all. Guess I'll skip this one.
I really had more faith in the gog team.

It hasn't been released yet, so why do you say this??
