Thanks so much for your help. Do you mind explaining the fix? Is it easy? I'd like to replay after this on a higher difficulty / different attributes. Is it something you think GOG will update so it doesn't happen?

it requires you to edit the save in the Shocked editor. when you have it set up properly, it's pretty easy to do.

I don't think anyone can do anything to prevent this from happening - all we can do is hope that there will be a new NewDark release in the future, and that it will solve the issue. the general assumption is that the chances are good - remember, we already had two updates, so the chances that the mystery modder is still working on this are pretty high (or so I would like to believe).

in the meantime, I have no problems fixing things up over here - when you submit your save here, it will get fixed in a couple of hours.

Do you remember if you jumped into the swimming pool on the Rec. deck?

I definitely did. I died straight away - I thought this was normal behaviour so avoided water right up until this end part where you *have* to swim.

No, I only have the one save and the autosave. If I play again (probably will, haha - I'm a tank this time but want to try as a strictly psi user) I will do some early saves for you.

Anecdotally, I did notice another glitch this time around where I had the occasional (two total) 'invincible' hybrid. i.e. I couldn't touch or hit them with the wrench or any bullets. They were effectively made of air. Then I figured out I could kill them indirectly e.g. shooting an android near them and the explosion killed them. I have a feeling it was based on my character attributes since that is the main difference this time around - it didn't happen last time.

Thanks so much for doing that again. Last time you did the fix for me it did end up happening again later on so I suspect I will be back again before this play through is over. Thanks again.

yeah, that ultra rare invincible hybrid bug. too bad you don't have any saves, they would be worth gold.

I have been playing the Windows version in Wine on Linux. My game exhibits the same problem. Swimming in the swimming pool was impossible, and now I can’t proceed in Body of the Many.

Unfortunately, I also have been using quick save only.

A fixed version of this save would be much appreciated. I tried my luck with ss2editor but couldn’t even figure out how to get the save loaded in it. It failed to load any of the files under save_N.

Relevant save is save_2 (or save_3). Chronology of saves is 4,5,...13->0,1,2,3. Also, as far as diagnostic info goes, I definitely jumped into both the Rec pool and hydroponics water, and I remember them both instakilling me. Thanks for your help!
