TheTaff: Just installed the GOG version. The game works fine, but the cutscenes won't play.

voodoo47: see the last resort video fix under "useful links" (first post).
Fixed it via that link before you replied; it did the trick. Thank you for the help, regardless. I appreciate it.

there shouldn't be any limits. can't log onto the docs from work, can someone verify this? google docs are sometimes not working properly for some people.

Hey voodoo47, I really like your sticky :) and the fact that you are helping out when you can. Kudos to you man, and if I could up your rep, I would.

I have had both System Shock and SS2 since their respective releases, and I have never been a member of the site you posted, in fact, I had never even heard of them until I saw this thread. There is good info on that site, even for non-members, so cheers to you for bringing it to everyone’s attention, as well as the mods and tools that are available for the game.
Yep, Google links are down.
so much for unlimited access from google. guess systemshock.org will start to receive more pounding again - let's hope the failsafes will prevent major issues.
Just downloaded the GOG version of the game and I'm trying to install the SS2tool but when I paste the Shock2.exe location I can't click on install. Manually locating Shock2.exe doesn't help either. Any solution?
I am still trying to figure out how the hud modifications work, the config file seems to be set up differently from the Thief file.
make sure the game and the tool are not in program files, windows or similar protected location (as mentioned in the first post).
I can see ADaoB is not recommended for purists yet at description of the mod at System Shock reads that it follows true to the original concept while fixing a lot of issues. Isn't it recommended it to use it then? Any pros and cons with this particular mod for a first timer?

Doh, I feel stupid now. Thanks Voodoo.
ADaoB is recommended, but some (purist) players feel like certain improvements stray a bit too much from the original concept - for example, the laser pistol is changed to a hitscan weapon.

the next version will be much closer to the original concept - all such changes will be reworked, and the mod will be moved into the "must have" section.

right now, my recommendation would be - try it out if you are a (SS2) veteran, and don't use it if you are a newbie.

Hi, only a question.
Playing to the game i noticed that many conversation haven't subtitles.
Like at the beginning when a voice it's talking to us and inside the building where you must to do the training.
It exist a mod that add subtitles to game parts where they aren't present?

No, there aren't.
