When did you download the game? If you got it before the installer was updated, the dx6 option wont be there. In the current version dx6 is available and is the default. (You can still use dx7, and some of the crashes are fixed, but by no means all.)

Has any updates been done with this game lately? I played it years ago on a Windows 2000 system and want to play again now on my Windows 8. I keep getting a crash with the no eax application after the opening video. As there's not much support for this game on the internet, I've been trying any suggestions I could find, including the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit. Unfortunately, I've been getting nowhere, fast.
