this was an instabuy for me on day 1, but as soon as i noticed these issues, and heard that there was a fix coming ive held off my play of it.

however, this is going on too long now, is the fix coming? or do you want to share with us how you fixed the blue sky thing so we can maybe do it ourselvesand release what you have? i mean its been mentioned earlier in the thread that problems have been fixed.
From playing up until the second hub, I've encountered rare cases of "audio scratch" (beginning with characters in the second hub), slow down / speed up, and two crashes during the first real boss. While these problems have been annoying, this game is still worth playing and is perfectly playable - just not quite the perfect compatibility I would like to see. On that note, if you look at the System Requirements more closely, it specifically states:

"Minimum system requirements: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8, 1.8 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM (1 GB recommended), 3D graphics card equipped with 2048MB Video RAM or less, compatible with DirectX 7 (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended), 2GB HDD, Mouse, Keyboard. Compatibility notice: This game is incompatible with graphics cards equipped with more than 2GB (2048MB) of Video RAM."

If you'll notice, this game requires a PC with less than 2GB video RAM in your graphics card and is recommended for DirectX9 - that means that if the video RAM in your graphics card is even a little over 2GB like mine (at about 2.4GB) and are using the newest version of DirectX like I am, you'll run into some more problems. I really hope that GOG.com is able to improve this though, as I'd really like to be able to play this game on a better computer in the future.

EDIT: This message was pre-patch - now that the patch has been released and the gamepage has taken notice of this, this post is no longer relevant. Everything is fixed with the patch!

Since no one really seems to care a lot I'm playing this with now the ATIFix. The skymap may look weird and the map crashing bug isn't fixed there, but overall the game looks pretty decent. At least there are no broken doors.
"Thanks", GOG :)
I never expected this from gog.com... :(
Hello,hello.Anybody home.
Well we don't know much about GOGs company structure,
but when there's really only a single person responsible for the patch it might very well be that this person has a life to lead and does all GOG work on a voluntary base. Assuming that I call for patience - but a short update would be nice nevertheless.
Check your accounts, guys. We just put up a fix that should put to rest the "problem" of having a video card that is too POWAHFUL. :D
Awesome, the new patch also takes care of all graphical problems! The game now looks like it's supposed to look. Good work!
Thank you for the fix! :)
And sorry for being such a douchebag in my precious post.
Thanks for the fix, everything looks amazing now.

So we should use the patch even if we don't have too much vram?
Or were you being sarcastic?
Wouldn't it be nice to have change logs for these patches so we don't have to ask these questions?

No, no sarcasm here.
The patch really helped, no slowdown and everything else seems to be running great - thanks GOG!
