hauna: I copied runtime.exe and patch.dll to my original version's directory, starting it then reproduced the error. So the problem lies within patch.dll and runtime.exe, no textures seem to have been changed.

timeslip: I guess I should step in and say something, since it's my patch.

To prepare for any eventuality where a change causes anyone more problems than it solves, I always add config options to disable bits of the patch. If you open the file %APPDATA%\GOG\Nomad\config.ini, (create it if it doesn't exist already) and type into it

[Graphics]
GraphicsPatch=0

That will disable all parts of the patch related to the graphics, and get you back to what the cd version would look like. (If I try that on my system, it ends up looking like this. I'd say my patch is a fairly significant improvement in that case. :p)

I have no suitable old computer to see what the game is supposed to look like, (and obviously, it doesn't work unpatched on any of my modern ones,) and didn't realise the random blueness wasn't in the original. I'll see if I can do something about it. I haven't seen the door glitch myself... Maybe it's already fixed in the new version of the patch I sent in to GOG, or maybe it's hardware specific or something. (Which would be a real pita...)

Edit: Tis easy when you know it's there. I've found the cause of the weird blueness and fixed it. :)

If you see anything else you recognise as not belonging, and you can make up a screenshot of what it should look like, a savegame nearby and instructions on how to get there, I'll take a look at it and see if I can get it looking more like the original.
Hey, that's really great news! Except for the door / transparent walls and fogging glitch I haven't found anything else so far.
Will you go the official route and issue the patch via GOGs patch notifier or could you also post the fix here?

Thanks a lot already for taking this serious :)

edit:

I attached a file with several savestates.

http://www.filedropper.com/games_1

If you put it into the IAM folder and proceed to load the third one from the top, you're in K'ayls office. It's perfect for testing, since if you step out of the door you

a) see the fogging error
b) you can look through the wall on the right, into another office

It'll go through QA to check I haven't done anything too stupid, and then (assuming I haven't, which is always a big assumption, :p) show up as an update.

You can use the workaround of disabling the patch via config.ini until then. If you don't have the ati zbuffer problem, or fps/crashing problems in the inventory screen, and your movies work, then the only other part of the patch you'd be missing out on is the 32 bit colour/dithering fix.

Thanks. Turns out that the seeing through walls thing was indeed fixed already. :)

Oh that is so not correct! The game works unpatched without any tampering with the original CDs on Windows8! I had some trouble running it and I dont even remember what (if anything) I did, but it worked correctly and without any artifacts.

I have Athlon Phenom quad processor, GeForce 9800+gtx, 4gigs of ram and 500 gb hdds (two of them) and an OS on SSD drive. Windows 8, played Omikron on 27'' monitor in max resolution while windows8 was still beta and recently as well. Now switched to gog version.

I am happy to see you can turn off parts of the patch.

EDIT: I DO remember the only problem (in original not patched) I got was having EXTREME laggs in sneak/inventory! It worked, but had to wait few seconds for each move, it was rly annoying! And map crashed the game (not that I needed it anyway, ever)

Alas, my desktop has an ati card and has the zbuffer problems, and my netbook has one of the older intel integrated chips and wont run it at all. :( I am planning on getting a nvidia machine once haswell shows up, which by the sounds of it would have run it.
Timeslip -- Glad to hear these problems have been sorted! Too bad I already finished the game this weekend ;)

I encountered another glitch that I posted a separate thread about, any chance you could look in there and see if it's fixable? I have a workaround posted that already worked for one other person but outside of the blue fog and door issues, it's the only other glitch I encountered in the entire game.

Actually, two threads, but the X-Tech Mission is the one that needs looking at. Dunno why I had the save glitch but it never happened after the first time.

As someone who finished the game completely this weekend, the only problems I ever encountered were blue fog (which you claimed you fixed), seeing the outside while viewing the inside of a building through a door (ditto), a one-off save game glitch and a huge glitch in the X-Tech factory.

The rest of the game had no problems to speak of from start to finish.

So is the updated version already uploaded if we buy the game now, or is it still in testing?
Oh, I really would like to start playing with this update, is there anyway way for you to just include it as a seperate download here untill it goes live? :)

sry for being pesky, but its omikron, one of my fav games. just wondering if the patch is available yet. If anyone who purchased it could confirm it would be much appreciated.

thx for the heads up hauna.
Is this currently still in GOG's hands? Still can't wait for the patch to appear! :)
Well... Is this patch really coming? :)
I guess ill have to see how the old cd version works on my nvidia win7 rig.

I just can't wait anymore. this whole arrival at gog made me crave to revisit this game after so many years.
