Well I guess you can visit bases and stuff. I did that and it worked as well. You can have "real" wold encounters now.

Actually, while I was doing some video editing, I sat in the Nexus with my ship. Half an hour later, my friend sent me a screenshot of himself, next to my ship. We finally ran into each other by sheer accident and chance. And he only noticed because he got the pad right next to my ship, which he had seen screenshots of!

That was weird. After that, I used the Nexus Portal to visit his base, and it did say "download failed" at first but it still worked the second time around.

We were able to play together, he showed me what he had done so far. But we also noticed another player in "his" system - a random one. Possibly came through the Nexus Portal as well. Can't you hide your bases from showing up to everyone in the Nexus Portal...?

I've yet to test if the Main Menu "Join" thing works or not when my friend's back online.

Thanks you everyone! I got a lot of new friends and played MP with a few of them. Good stuff. I hope we can find a very nice system and start GOG civilized space!
