I changed my drivers, set up the biggest textures (512x512) and set up the render to DirectX instead of DirectX+ Shiny, and all the glitches seemed to be gone.

I have GF 8800GT 512MB with actual driver and unfortunately the same problem as others! Game runs really fast, but it looks terrible, textures dissapearing and again appearing.
I'm runing it under Vista x64. :( Setting to Direct 3D didn't help.
What's this? I thought all GOG games were tested on modern machines.

I'm sure they do, but this doesn't seem to be a consistent problem between all graphics cards, either. Some people say it's fine, some people say there is a problem, etc. So, while I am sure they have made an effort, it isn't really feasible to test on every single system ever.
Can those of you who have it working please post what version drivers you are running? Are you using any particular ATI Catalyst or nVidia Control Panel settings? Are you running XP or Vista, etc. If you can sort out which configurations work and which don't, it is more likely that they will be able to work on it for you, or you can find a setting that helps you.

I have an 8800GT and Vista Ultimate x86 and my textures are disappearing as well. I tried setting all the display and direct3d details to minimum and setting my NVidia Control Panel to all default values but it makes no difference. Neither does running in XP, 98, or 95 compatibility mode.
The game is unplayable for me like this. Sometimes the floor textures disappear so I'm stuck on a jumping puzzle on the first level, and it doesn't help that my character disappears as well.
I'll keep experimenting and will share if I find the answer, but I must admit this is not what I had in mind when I bought the game here.
--edit--
I guess I should have read the troubleshooting section before buying this game.

It's fairly consistent with the GeForce 8 and 9 series of cards, and will get worse as time goes on. Many games from that era use 8-bit and 16-bit textures, which both Nvidia and ATI are dropping dithering support for with their newer drivers, causing graphical glitches like the ones seen in MDK. Textures that are supposed to be pseudo-transparent are now rendered as solid blocks due to this lack of dithering.
Other games that are affected (for example) are the Infinity Engine (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale) and Dark Engine (Thief, System Shock 2) titles. A little more info here:

It might have been nice if GOG mentioned this somewhere. According to the Steam hardware survey nearly 20% of gamers are using NVidia 8xxx series cards.

Well this site is still in the beta stage, so I'm wondering if this kina thing is what they're looking for: minor bugs.
epandele: Tried it. Didn't work for me. Thanks though.
Guess I should mention that I have a GeForce 8500 graphics card. Not sure if it's relevant though, since this seems to happen on other cards as will.

MDK will not work properly on NVidia 8xxx cards:

And since GOG's TOS says that all sales are final I guess people like you and I are stuck with a broken product we'll never be able to play.

I reckon you'd get your money back if the game doesn't work. Think all sales is final is more for reasons of not liking the game/changing your mind. Hopefully won't have to do that though and can get something sorted to get the game to run properly

I have had no problems on my home computer (XP, Geforce 6600, latest drivers). On my work machine (XP, Geforce 7600, latest drivers) I had the "solid white textures" glitch and a few annoying green lines across the screen, solved after changing the texture resolution to 512x512 and switching from DirectX+Shiny to just DirectX in the game's options.

I'm getting no visual errors with a GeForce 8800GT, though I'm not using the GOG version of the game. Driver versions and whatnot will follow shortly, after some experimentation.
So: gone from version 169.06 to 175.16 (most recent one), and both seemed to work. Maybe I'm missing something: where exactly should I encounter these graphical glitches? I only started a new game and played ten minutes.

Strange pkt-zer0.
The graphical glitches are starting right from the beginning of the game.
I have the same graphics card and still can't make this game playable... :(
