Loger13: You don’t understand how shared libraries work, right?
The file does not have to be bundled with the game so that the game depends on it.
Incompatible may be some specific version (or version
s) of this library. Therefore, not everyone has a problem.
ArcaneTourist: I've *written* shared libraries. And kernel code. Admittedly not for Windows.
I was trying to show that the fact that MSVCR110.dll is needed but not included coupled with the fact that the Steam version works indicates that this library is not the problem. Prior reports from people who saw success after reinstalling that library probably mean they had an old copy or didn't have it at all. Also, as noted in an earlier post, analysis of the crash dumps shows that my copy is crashing from within the "extra" library named common.dll in a routine named SteamAPI_Init.
This doesn't look like something we can fix. (Well, unless we copy the GoG DLC to the Steam version and install a crack, but I'm not going there.) We'll have to see what GoG can do.
They need to stop selling the game to people and taking their money for a non working product.
