SimonG: Personally I don't care a lot about graphics, old games still have often very good designed graphics. What a lot of games do need is an interface update.
The best example being early RTS games, where you manually had to select every action ... Similar issues plague many rpgs.
Definitely agree on the "interface update" point The best example being early RTS games, where you manually had to select every action ... Similar issues plague many rpgs.
as a matter of fact...I would apply this with most RPG's that come out today and have extremely outdated mechanics like turn based combat for example, the only reason turn based combat was in RPG's in the first place was because of extremely limited hardware and control mechanics (aka, D-pad and a couple of buttons)
I'm baffled at how it is the year 2012, we have powerful hardware with a wide range of diverse control methods and there are STILL RPG's coming out with turn based combat, any game that has this can get out of my face
I'm looking at you, Final Fantasy
