Tales of Monkey Island, all Sam & Max games, and more from Telltale 80% off.

For the last 8 years the talented people at the Telltale Games studio have been delivering the best point-n-click adventures, featuring many of the all-time favorite characters, to our computers' screens. Their episodic publishing formula allowed a steady flow of development and gave the devs time to carefully and lovingly polish all the fine details of their games. Each episode is a little shiny gem, priceless and unique. But here's a thing about buying jewels: you can usually only afford one at a time. So what if you want to catch up with a whole season of episodes of a Telltale adventure--an equivalent of a box full of jewels? You [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/telltale_weekend_promo_9_11_12/]get it 80% off on GOG.com!

The Tales of Monkey Island--starring the world famous hapless pirate, Guybrush Threepwood--offers five chapters of fantastic fun for less than $7!

Back to the Future: The Game offers you a glimpse into the adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown, that took place after (or before--time travel is tricky) the movie storyline. Get it for less than $5!

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures features the very British pair of comedians, that starred in many critically acclaimed movies (well, stop-motion claynimations, actually). The entire season of four episodes can be yours for less than $4!

And last, but not in any way the least: Sam and Max, the freelance sleuth duo consisting of a dog in a trenchcoat and notoriously naked white rabbit, are well known to any adventure fan. Now you can get the entire collection of their adventures--all sixteen episodes produced by Telltale spanning over three seasons: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space, and Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse--for less than $20!

The GOG.com point-n-click all you can eat buffet is now open, so you can finally satisfy your hunger for great Telltale adventures, 80% off! The promo will last until Tuesday, November 13, at 4:59AM GMT.

And in case you missed it, here's what's new... I mean: here's the new episode of our weekly show:
I can't believe how many people we have bitching about how discounts are "only" 50%.

Then they have an 80% off promo and people still find reasons to complain about it.

WTF do you want???
80%? What hapened to "steam eeeeeevil, discounts are killing games!!!1!!1" policy? Someone in gog finally understood todays market?
I wasn't literally asking the *user* WTF what he wants. The fact that his post followed mine is pure coincidence.

LOL
I wish i could transfer all these games from my Telltale account to GOG . :(

More likely: "Hey, these games are ridiculously overpriced! Let's offer our customers something much more reasonable."

For the regular $6 and $10 games that'd be overkill.
Let's get back to the games and stop complaining.

Not played any of these games, nor anything of the old classic Monkey Island (HAVE tried it, but may have been one game and I don't recall jack of it). Would it be better to play the old ones first, or is it fine to go directly to the new stuff?

Are the others in the offer any good?

80% off is a lot, but the price is still not THAT low, so don't think I'll buy the lot.
Haha you guess it there is just something violently unappealing to me in the visual of those two.. Maybe that clay rendered in 3D or the original feel of it, i never saw the cartoon movie so i can't tell.. Though i have most of Telltales games in my library i always skip on this one, maybe if i were to try a demo someday would grace it on my side.

Edit : Trying now Steam demo, let me give it a chance!

Edit 2 : Chance given and purchased, i learn some more not to judge too fast a book by its cover, very Telltale from the demo so i see. Also nice, French subtitles on a GOG game FOR ONCE.. :)

koima57: What a deal for Back to the future, though i already have them all from Telltale except wallace & grommit that looks atrocious to me.. Also the lack of French language support.. Still, what a price!!

KainDrake: Wow. Apparently, you're not a Wallace and Gromit fan. It's actually a very good game and it's based on an old stop-motion short series. If you like TellTale's games, I recommend Wallace and Gromit. :D

The Sam & Max line is probably your best bet here. They certainly retain the humor of the franchise, while being a bit lighter on gameplay than the game made by LA. They're still plenty of fun though.
After Sam + Max Devil's Playhouse being in the previous Indie Royale Bundle, I was hoping for a sale on the Telltale games. I can now buy a few of these.

Reading this thread it seems you are not alone.. For me it would be enough if Telltale would also offer drm-free versions, but I would also appreciate an option (maybe for a small fee) to activate my games here. Ordering the drm-free cd-versions would cost me 20$ (got all games here except Back to the future), so buying them here again is not an option for me.

Maybe we can start a thread on the Telltale forum about it .

Already hijacked the gog-thread there to ask for drm-free versions ;-) In the shopping/activation support forum I see that SirPrimalform was trying something similar without any big feedback (asked for desura and steam keys).

My hope is that maybe something blue will read this here and see this as an option to grab more new customers from Telltale...
80%? Alright, you got me. Monkey Island and Back To The Future it is.

You do realize that other stores often have sales at 75% off, right? I'm not exactly sure how you find it hard to believe that people might want GOG to sell things for the same price as other stores.
Wow, 80% off. Didn't see that coming!

And it's funny now that GOG decided to do bigger discounts, people are still complaining...
