Tales of Monkey Island, all Sam & Max games, and more from Telltale 80% off.

For the last 8 years the talented people at the Telltale Games studio have been delivering the best point-n-click adventures, featuring many of the all-time favorite characters, to our computers' screens. Their episodic publishing formula allowed a steady flow of development and gave the devs time to carefully and lovingly polish all the fine details of their games. Each episode is a little shiny gem, priceless and unique. But here's a thing about buying jewels: you can usually only afford one at a time. So what if you want to catch up with a whole season of episodes of a Telltale adventure--an equivalent of a box full of jewels? You [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/telltale_weekend_promo_9_11_12/]get it 80% off on GOG.com!

The Tales of Monkey Island--starring the world famous hapless pirate, Guybrush Threepwood--offers five chapters of fantastic fun for less than $7!

Back to the Future: The Game offers you a glimpse into the adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown, that took place after (or before--time travel is tricky) the movie storyline. Get it for less than $5!

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures features the very British pair of comedians, that starred in many critically acclaimed movies (well, stop-motion claynimations, actually). The entire season of four episodes can be yours for less than $4!

And last, but not in any way the least: Sam and Max, the freelance sleuth duo consisting of a dog in a trenchcoat and notoriously naked white rabbit, are well known to any adventure fan. Now you can get the entire collection of their adventures--all sixteen episodes produced by Telltale spanning over three seasons: Sam & Max Save the World, Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space, and Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse--for less than $20!

The GOG.com point-n-click all you can eat buffet is now open, so you can finally satisfy your hunger for great Telltale adventures, 80% off! The promo will last until Tuesday, November 13, at 4:59AM GMT.

If I didn't already have all those games on my Steam account I would be getting them on GOG. They are fantastic and easily worth that price.

I can't justify spending $35 in a bunch of games I already own in a format that works on modern computers, though; those games were, unfortunately, only added to GOG after I already had all of them on Steam.

Trilarion: Basically what I want to say is that the normal price for Telltale games is just silly. Outside of sales they clearly don't want to have too many customers. I feel this is now a good price.
Oh. I've absolutely misunderstood what you were trying to say then. Sorry about that, don't mind me, carry on.
So I have Wallace & Gromit and Back to the Future sitting in my cart, not sure if I wanna click buy.

If I do, I just know that these will show up in an indiroyale or indiegala or something next month.

My current gaming "system" has trouble even with Tales of Monkey Island unless i use one of the lowest graphics settings, so it might be better to wait. If it went on sale once, it will likely do so again within 2 years.

Wow, can't believe I talked myself OUT OF buying a game on sale for once.

Not very likely or with a steam key.

Just buy them as the extras are well worth it and the games too. I already have those DRM-free (on disc, with the extras) and I must say that I like them very much.
I woke up and see this! Insta-buy.
GOG already said they stand with what they said, but market (read: gamers) said otherwise, so they will be doing bigger sales than before.
This is not helping my poor wallet and my backlog at all...oh well
So, I thought you said steep sales cheapend IP's and was bad for the consumer? It really disappoints me that you can't stand up to your word. What's next, DRM?

They probably won't. These are heavily licensed properties, and aren't "original" Telltale IPs. The franchise owners will most likely not allow these games to go on sale like that.

If LucasArts let them do it with Sam&Max, why not? Or are those not licensed from Lucas?

But Sam & Max Season 3 (the newest, and arguably the best in the series) was on Indie Royale...

Sam and Max are actually owned by Steve Purcell. He was making comics about them -before- the first game came out. Their first published comic was in 1987.

LucasArts owns the rights to the original game, but not the characters.

'Sides, Steve Purcell is more likely to go "Hell yeah sell the game for charity!" than whoever is in charge of LucasArts', Universal and whoever owns the Wallace and Gromit's franchise marketing division. (Though I suspect the Wallace and Gromit guys would be okay with that.)

Now we're talking! Anybody who bothered buying these for their regular (and quite ridiculous) prices ought to feel like a chump. I'll probably pick up Wallace & Gromit - the one thing I don't already own on that list - and maybe a second helping of ToMI just because.

This sale also reminds me I still have to play through S&M 2&3 - now with more leather, whips, and chains! - and BttF that I've gotten through Telltale's site.
Hopefully this means GOG will be doing more 75% sales for games. if they want to sell newer titles they need to compete price wise with other stores that do the same.
