My uni major project has an assignment due next week, guess what happens? Both my project partners have vanished off the face of the fucking earth so I've got the entire fucking thing to do myself!
The only upside I can come up with is that I can now give myself somewhat MORE work and do the project I originally wanted to do because there's noone to argue with me but of course it means throwing out the half a completed (but pretty shit) project and doing a lot more work.
Just one time I'd like to have a really GOOD week, just to see what its like.

I have no idea where my partners are or their intentions. One is not welcome back since he's been unreliable since the start and the one I actually depended on to be reliable, the one I've worked with for years and out of the 4 full class projects at TAFE did the OTHER half that I didn't do when everyone else fucked of and it was just him and me, will have to do some serious talking to get back in my good books. Its just so disappointing.
The project in question is a half year thing, we did the project prep last semester which involved the project design that we're now supposed to implement. I've decided that since I was always against this project but was voted down that I'm tossing it and doing the project I originally wanted, an expert system application with an interactive animated character (would you imagine that she's basically the same as the annoying paperclip and windows search dog?) that does network design tasks based on the questions you answer. A lot more work but I'm doing something I'm actually a bit interested in and I think thats the thing that will tip the balance.

Nah I got Vanessa last year and she came with some nudies which I'll probably include in the presentation for a cheap laugh. Might even include a joke page in the app where she can read stupid jokes and insult people.
She has transparent backgrounds though, never seen an agent that doesn't. They don't work right in Vista, something to do with the desktop having a transparency layer but they seem fine in XP

Basically the easiest way to use things like this is the Microsoft Agent Scripting Host. MASH is an automated system that writes the scripts for you that control them. The voice synth included in windows is crap but there's some good ones you can get that sound vaguely organic. Might not want to get your hopes up, they have a limited set of animations, basically they're just animated GIFs at heart
I'm not actually making one of these, I'm using it as an animated character to support a network development tool

Is this a local app or an online one ? I don't know if Guile's agents animations can be made to work online...
I was using Verbots with Nicole (locally) for bs talk and as an app and playlist launcher (with voice) but while i like the way KB's are built, i really miss some features in the app launching department so i'm kind of waiting aroung for Guile's universal app (and Denise, naturally :).

I remember those sound things from windows. It could read the text you where typing.
It sounded like martians being constipated. I used it for my thesis because it created a spacy mood :)

Local only. The concept is to give this to a client who can answer questions and get an idea of the size of network and hardware they'll need, design a subnet plan and things like that. Maybe even give the IOS comands to set up VLANs & router tables
