Delixe: I'm not convinced that was a hint about Halo. I don't really see Steve Ballmer warming to the DRM-Free idea. If it was though they have a few decent IP's.

MS's attempts at DRM has been botched at best. Crippling at worst. They've never once got it right and with the 360 I'm suspicious about how intentional that is.
But then there is a possibility that they're inclined to abandon their useless attempts at DRM on a platform they're not so bothered about anymore (when it comes to gaming).
D O O M
MechWarrior... I remember when MekTek announced MW4's free release.. it's still awaiting a green light, and MekTek stating:
"However, we have learned that Microsoft has endured several administrative changes which currently impede the release." -> http://mektekdev.com/
In 3 days we'll learn that M$ is "taking serious steps towards establishing a native ground on which mediations will take place on the subject of DRM-free releases."
Just like their Live here in PL. [not that i care for xboxlive] ;P
Doom indeed.;D

Mikee: Thing is that I cannot cross this thin red line after which tomorrow may be not so funny day for me in the office;-)

Delixe: I really wouldn't worry about that. I'm sure we are now far further from the truth than we were when you first commented. ;)

hmmm...no:-) I think that in general it is getting warmer, and warmer:-)
not always of course, but few times was reallly hot:-)
I wonder how far will you go..hmmm..can you guys narrow a bit speculations taking into account what was said so far?:-)
Tommorow I'll disscuss with team how much further we can go with clues;-)
After each Mikee's post and subsequent replies I can't help getting this impression... ;)

Not much further! It'll be so much better with tons of different guesses just before the announcement hits.

Tomorrow!? Oh come on, that's in 24 hours! Should we make a TV series in the mean time?:P
Jack.. we have 24hrs to solve this one. ;D
My guess is that it won't be EA (System Shock 2) or Eidos (Deus Ex) as they have been mentioned so many times.
Sierra and Lucasart have also been mentioned a couple of times, but I think (or hope) it might be one of them.
It may also be Planescape / Baldur's Gate / Icewind Dale.
Anyway, I am pretty sure that it will please to many people.

You do realise this is an internet forum, right? Only very few ever read more than the last couple of posts, most don't even do that.
Not many of us took notice of that post where you said the right answer had already been guessed, there are still MANY guesses (serious or not, I cannot say) after that which did not exist before.
If I were to make an estimate, I'd say there are at least 3 times as many different guesses now compared to when that post was made.
I looked into the webcode, and they're giving us all tickets to Poland. It'll be a Polish party, where every participant will receive copies of every game ever made that will work on any platform made in the past, present or future. They will also announce that they have found a cure for cancer, AIDS, and terrorism.

Sure, that's all well and good, but dammit! I want WarCraft: Orcs and Humans!

Nah, it was crap, and unwieldly. Tides of Darkness!! WC2!!!
Yeah, no more than 4 units in a group!!

I wouldn't put it past 'em.
After reading here, i think it will be a publisher deal. A BIG publisher deal. So which one? Activation? Atari? Lucas? Sierra? These publishers hold the best old games out there, so it must be one of them. I hope it will be Atari, because i want all the D&D old games and Driver 1. And some other games i forgot right now (or i don't know which publisher has them).
It cant be Valve. And it was hinted it will not be EA. MS can't be (and they don't have great old games either).
Or....it could be a change in GOG's game catalog, by accepting new (and old) indie games. A paradise for indie games. But i doubt it.
