Navagon: I am enjoying this. And it's not blind hate when it's based on his own words and actions. On his wikipedia page, at least two thirds of it is dedicated to 'controversies' and that doesn't cover everything.

This won't be a surprise, but Wikipedia doesn't always stay neutral. I think a lot of people reinforce the negative impression about this guy because it's fun to do so.
Has he campaigned for higher prices? Yes. Does that look like what's going on here? No. Does there seem to be anything about this situation that applies to what you're citing on Wikipedia? Based on the prices right here on this site on this day -- reality, not bias -- I'd say no.
I actually used to work for ATVI - before the merger with VUG - and have been in the middle of a few discussions regarding back catalogue (i.e. old) titles. The long and the short of it is that Activision won't do anything unless there's some cash involved, but as soon as there's money to be made it'll make an effort. They certainly realise that $5 for Spycraft with no DRM is better than $0 but protecting the license...
They've certainly given people some reasons to dislike them, but 'they only want to make money' isn't one of them. There's not a single publisher out there who does something because it's simply nice for the player.
Anyhow, this is my official request for Spycraft to make a comeback. I loved that game, and have even got my originals running on my current system, but I'll happily shell out some cash for it again. I spent way too long inside the business seeing it's name on various spreadsheets and wishing for it to make a comeback somehow.

The quotes are all cited and legit.

Yeah? No shit. There was me thinking my post was deadly serious.

Your point being what then? He's not consistent? Sounds like a good thing to get riled over. Good luck with that .

I think that's happening over at this thread:

MarcioHuser: That's it? Two Activision games? Although GK is a good game, the countdown aftermatch was not impressive at all :p

Miaghstir: No, not "two Activision games". "Activision coming to GOG, bringing two awesome games to begin with, then more very soon".
Well, looking from that angle... I have NO idea what belongs to Activision or not that could come to GOG :P
Well that's a good announcement and all, but I was hoping for System Shock 2. Oh and the Thief series. Oh and Aliens vs Predator 1 and 2. Oh and...

You can buy AvP 1 on Steam for about $4. The 2000 version with saving enabled.

Valorian: I hope for maybe a Birthright: Gorgon's Alliance, maybe a Might & Magic 7/8, Baldur's Gate 1/2..

Yup I'd buy Birthright in heartbeat, I friggin love the game.

The Thief series recently got added to GamersGate as a DRM free download. A little bit expensive ($25.00 for the first two games), but shows that Eidos is entering the DRM free marketplace. DeusEx series is there as well.
So, speaking of publisher announcements, and Eidos releasing DRM free downloads: Do you think Eidos might be coming to GOG soon? Like maybe that is the other big first quarter publisher?

I was expecting it to be EA after Activision, but Eidos is welcome too.
Anyway, I would love both series on GOG.
Pay attention on GG that Thief 2 isn't available. And GG has Project Snowblind too.
Keep in mind that Square Enix now owns Eidos, so it would have to be them coming onboard.

Sure. I just can't stop calling them Eidos. :p
