Could it possibly be Sierra? After all, I know I'd love to replay some of those old Space Quest, Freddy Pharkas, King's Quest etc.. games without having to do all the dosbox setup myself.

Sierra IPs belong to ActiBlizz now. So, in a way, it's a possibility.

DrIstvaan: make it so that the counter's background becomes clickable and clicking on it brings the user here, to this thread?

Hey, more traffic to my awesome thread! I like it! :D

There is a year summary (2009) made for CD Projekt's website gram.pl by Łukasz Kukawski from GOG.
What can we read there?
Eg.
"You can accuse us, that in 2009 we did not sign agreements with several publishers, including Electronic Arts, or Atari, but it all before us. "
"Service certainly needs a few more improvements which our programmers and graphic artists are working for some time. Big update is made ready for the next year and should both satisfy the most demanding users and the oldest highlanders'."
"It is not a secret that service leaders are thinking about surprices for the following year. When asked about specific plans, Kukawski remains enigmatic. "The plan is very ambitious, and I can not wait when I could reveal more secrets. Certainly not disappoint the expectations of players in terms of subsequent classic games, which will appear in the directory" - ends.

It's the open-source community and the game is Battle for Wesnoth. I win.
Seriously, after all of this talk I remember how many games I'd love to see on this website. I'd probably fall off my bed if Alpha Centauri showed up. Ah, see you later, high GPA.

Me too. High five. ;)

DrIstvaan: Hey Mikee, I've got an idea (totally irrelevant to the guessing session).
Could someone of the staff (with the knowledge+authority to do so) make it so that the counter's background becomes clickable and clicking on it brings the user here, to this thread?
Just a thought...

Sweet idea.

Just passed it to our Master Chief Designer - Destro. Final decision is in his hands.
btw: You guys think that I only make fun out of you. True is that I've some fun:-) but mainly I try to help. Thing is that I cannot cross this thin red line after which tomorrow may be not so funny day for me in the office;-)

..and I also think that giving totally wrong clues without logical reason is not fair, who would like to play game like this?;-) Everything has to be somehow logical and a part of the bigger mystery, that is fun, especially when mystery is revealed and you can see that everything fits together. That is how I think this kind of stuff should be made;-)
..ok I shut up:-) and anyway everything will be revealed so soon:-)

I really wouldn't worry about that. I'm sure we are now far further from the truth than we were when you first commented. ;)

Mikee: Master Chief Designer

My thoughts are leaning more and more towards MS here...

Unexcelled.
Master Chief.
Microsoft is the only one of the biggest three publishers that produce(d) games for the PC. And we also know that GOG want to do a deal with MS for GFW or somesuch.
But then Master Chief could be simply because Destro is apparently a big Halo fanboy. And 'big three' might be based squarely on PC output, which rules out MS altogether.
I'm not convinced that was a hint about Halo. I don't really see Steve Ballmer warming to the DRM-Free idea. If it was though they have a few decent IP's.
Halo, Age of Empires, Black & White, Crimson Skies, Fable, Freelancer, MechWarrior, Flight Simulator, Midtown Madness, Rise of Nations, Shadowrun, Starlancer and The Movies.
