Delixe: Probably a silly question but does the DLC on Steam work with the retail Borderlands?
avatar
PoSSeSSeDCoW: People are asking that on the Steam Borderlands forums. The consensus appears to be no but I'm not sure anyone actually knows what they're talking about.

I'm sure the answer is no as it uses different install directories. Like alexisgondor i'm not buying Borderlands again just to get the DLC.

DelusionsBeta: Is Saint's Row 2 any good? I've heard good things about it.

Mostly depends on who you talk to.
It surely didn't leave a good impression at first and had a few nasty bugs on specific PCs, namely going way too fast. A promised and pulled patch and a GTA4 coming out a bit sooner, didn't help either.
The speed bug has gotten ironed out by a few guys - infos here.
As for the game itself: I still prefer GTA: San Andreas over GTA4. While 4 went the much more realistic gaming environment way, it lacks the hilarity from SA. Saint's Row 2 did it the other way round.
Just look up some Saint's Row 2 easter egg vids on youtube, and you'll see what I mean.
I've gotten it for full price and didn't regretted getting it entertainment wise - Steam says that I've put 50+ hours in it. If you're still unsure and want to stay on the safe side, get it on a console.
Sigh. Nothing good today. Was thinking of getting SR2, but then people have reported that the issues on PC were never fixed, so hell with that.

Aliasalpha: How much is it for you?
10,19€ with VAT,without any DLC ( Hungary )
Finally! Borderlands here I come!
Just to check, if anyone wants to do a Four Pack deal, I think I could join in on that. It would be a bit cheaper, though not that much really. Only going to wait for half an hour or so, because I want to get that game as soon as possible :P

I might be interested if you can hold off till tomorrow, I'm trying to see if the person I'm thinking of playing coop with would actually do it or if he's just saying it

I saw the community patch in question, and a particular megamod and to be honest, the only thing that's holding me back right now is that my current PC would have no hope of running it, and the replacement laptop (which should do a decent job at running it) doesn't look like coming until next week. Hmm...
Wow! Prototype for Greece is (-50%) at 25 euros !! (yes original price shows as 50 euros)
Ha, that''s $31 at current exchange rates.
So,, no buy today then.
Todays deals stink.
Well, they aren't all that bad as far as I'm concerned. Finally got Max and the Magic Marker at a price was hoping to get it for and the last Borderlands DLC for dirt cheap.
I was only going to get Max and the Magic Marker and Saints Row 2 (what a combination), the latter mostly for the price. It seems to be huge, I love sandbox games, and "GTA on [even more] drugs" sounds cool to me.
But now I decided to at least watch the trailers of every offer, and after seeing the one for Bionic Commando: Rearmed I'm really tempted. Damn, that's Retro done right!
Well, checked Amazon, and they're selling Saints Row 2 for a pleasingly low six quid. Apparently, it's a Steamworks game, so the difference is ready made backup vs. downloading 15 gigabytes of game and burning onto a disc. Hmm...

I can see how long I can hold off. Was going to buy it and download it tonight. It's 20:23 here now. I'll try to wait at least three hours at least. It's not much we will save, but if more people want it then it helps all of us.

BC:R is well worth the price. Just think of it as buying Rearmed and getting the "new" Bionic Commando game for free (even if you'll never bother installing it). I'm actually debating getting the pack so I have BC:R on the PC as well as the XBox.
Got Max and the Magic Marker and Borderlands with all DLC. Maybe we should organize a GOG Borderlands co-op session?
