I'm willing to buy XCOM, as well, but I have a question: when the game eventually is released in a GOTY version with all DLCs included, will my game update automatically to the GOTY edition or do I have to buy this special edition separatedly? I believe it might update automatically if the base game goes away from the store, and this seems to be the rule in these cases.
I know there's a new "huge" DLC coming, but the current two don't seem to be worth getting. Anyone has any experience on this matter with games that eventually went GOTY, like Borderlands, Batman: AA/AC and so on?
HK_47: Is there really no DRM-free version of Super Meat Boy anymore? I know it was sold at the Humble Store at some point, but I can't find it now. If that's the case then I might bite at the current sale price at Steam.
SMB never had any kind of DRM, actually. Neither does The Basement Collection and The Binding of Isaac (other Edmund McMillen games). You can buy them on Steam, download them and copy their folders anywhere you like and they'll run just fine without the Steam client.
