johnnygoging: that sounds like too much thinking.
I'd like to know what fees those are. the imaginary Vavle $8 individual DLC fee.
Pheace: The fees aren't imaginary, but yeah they are more for small DLC. Like under a dollar worth. Small transactions like that still incur a decent fee on top of that. It's partly why it was so bad to see humble bundles farmed for 1 cent, because those transactions actually *cost* humble money.
But yeah if it stays above $5 it shouldn't be much of an issue at al l.
I was being sarcastic. :) I know there's fees, but there's no way that they're taking even a fairly sizable amount of their profit. If they can sell all the stuff together at a discount just fine, they can sell the rest at a discount without one piece. in skyrim's case, the thing that's "making back the losses" would be the thing that's already discounted the most outside of the pack. doesn't really make a lot of sense.
most indie games sell for well below $5 on sale. do they make no money thanks to all the fees? no, none of that makes a bunch of sense at all.
