Just got an email from ShinyLoot, their site is no longer beta and they are having a big sale to celebrate the deal. Will have to see what good is on offer.
I see some of the games are GFWL, I wonder what's going to happen to those in the near future.
Lylian looks to be totally up my alley, worth a chance at $2. Thanks.

That does look appealing, especially at the price. Blue Libra looks like it has potential as well.
And they actually got RPG Maker VX for 50% off. It is not a bad price at $30, if you are interested in trying your hands at making your own RPG's.

Anyway, I wish Shiny Loot good luck. More competition is good :)
Thanks for the heads-up. I have never heard of them before.
I especially like the many options to filter games.
Hmm, no Black Mirror 1. What a shame.

Amazon US sold it DRM-free for $1.24 in their summer sale.
So, if a game has "Protection Type: None" and "Third Party Keys: Steam", does that mean you get a DRM-free version and a Steam key, or does it mean you get a Steam key only? Or in other words: Is "Third Party Key" a bonus or does it mean there will be no direct download from ShinyLoot (which would make quite a difference)?

According to reviews, it has... issues.

That I don't know, as I've only bought across-the-board "None" items from them in both categories. Hopefully someone can give a definitive answer.

They have some good deals if you don't mind DRM or activation, such as SpellForce 2 Gold. That appears to contain all the games that the two separate GOG titles cover, and is only $7.50 at the moment. But it has "One Time Key Validation", which I don't care for. GOG's versions are clean. (Unless the key refers to multiplayer activation, in which case it is essentially the same as the GOG versions, only without the bonuses.)
If I had an extra buck, I would give that Hinterland a try.

Wow, that IS a good price. Tell you what, I'll buy it and that will answer the question about the Steam key as well.

Yes, if a game has "Protection Type: None" and "Third Party Keys: Steam", it means that you get a DRM-free version and a Steam key. Shinyloot is DRM-free focused distribution outlet (only a bunch of their games has DRM, which is very minimal like one-time key validation), and Steam and Desura keys are bonuses for the people who prefer third party keys.

Confirmed. My purchase of Hinterland includes a direct download and a Steam key. Pretty nice. :)
