But I saw today how canadian bobsleigh team raced - in start they had good lead over the second russian team but in finish they lost and the driver looked confused because he was sure that they did good and better than the time showed. Trust me you will hear about sochi bobsleigh, it's much bigger than skeleton.

No disrespect to the OP, but I think it's entirely possible that it is just a coincidence and that it's honestly rather hasty to jump to the conclusion that foul play was involved. Especially since the Russian representative no doubt had a lot of practice on that track.

Ask any professional poker player what their greatest defeat was and they will almost certainly mention a hand that has an astronomically low chance of occurring. Random chance is involved in everything, including professional competition. Just because something is near impossible doesn't mean it is impossible, just highly improbable. Yet, sometimes, the stars will align just right and that something will occur despite the extremely low percentage of it happening. That's just life in general.
