Races are missing or am I just remembering wrong? I'm pretty sure last time I played I wasn't 100% human, but something really close .. Hmmmmm this is odd.

Did you remember to check the subraces? Like the Aasimar and the Tieflings?

gameon: Thankyou. I have started the download. So basically, it will be compatible with the GOG version? It's an exe file, so basically once i have installed the main game, it should be a simple update.

It's only 150mb, but if it's as good as it sounds, it should be good.

Fenixp: I've played it on my GOG version, so I'm fairly sure it'll run fine on yours as well. There is no (or just seldom) voice acting and most of the assets are taken from the original game, thus the small size: I can assure you that the adventure itself is quite epic, altho divided into small parts, apart from demon campaign which is a single open location. I didn't really mind the almost episodic approach of the first two parts, they are very seemlessly joined together and at least you can;t break anything that would emerge 5 hours into the campaign.
After trying it out, i just cannot get into it. It's mostly due to the game engine being really slow, the camera angle being irritating. I like knowing exactly where i'm supposed to go and what i'm supposed to do. I found myself wondering around trying to find how to trigger the next event. As i started from fresh, all i had was a level one character.

I've come to the conclusion that the game itself just isn't for me. Much too drawn out for my liking. Dull.

Aasimar and Tieflings should be subraces of Planetouched, I think humans do not have any subraces (Aasimar really look like humans though).

Ah yes you're right - I was expecting the sub-races to be in the list of races as well, my mistake :)

The only reason the planetouched aren't listed as a human subrace is because you could technically have a half-elf genasi.

grumblycakes: That's good news but full retail is $20? That seems off for an 7 year old game... it should be in the 10$ tier.
Actually I find the price to be very reasonable, 7 year old game or not. Buying all these games separately in a retail box they'd cost you more than 20$.

And best of all you have soundtracks, a clean installer and fully patched to latest version.

This was an insta buy for me, totally worth it :-)

Woah the game still doesn't run well with AA on on my PC. The engine is really poorly optimized. On the other hand CPU usage is nearly non existent.

"Ah D&D, are you a balm against the cold sting of loneliness or did you in fact create the very isolation we endure?"

I love this game, but be careful with modifications - many of the game breaking bugs that people complained about were caused by cutscenes that stalled or broke because animations could not fire due to extensions.

As people have said, save often, backup your saves, and even then be prepared to deal with a broken savegame.

I don't want to paint too bleak a picture, but I played hundreds of hours of this game and I think I ran into almost every major bug it was possible to run into.

How big are the partys in 2? A lot of people complained about the lack of party in NWN 1 and further more the lack of henchman control but to be honest I loved it. It was one less thing for me to worry about.
