Brandon, I have your saw!

Legend of Kyrandia, an unforgettable, classic point-and-click adventure game packed with wondrous locations, mythical creatures, and downright evil sense of humor, is available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Welcome to the wonderful kingdom of Kyrandia, a land of astounding beauty, home to countless enchanted creatures and spellbinding locations. Alas, dark clouds gather on the horizon: Malcolm, the court jester, has done something terrible and the magical realm will never be the same again. Unless you, Prince Brandon, can achieve the impossible and outfox the demented joker. Remember when adventure games challenged you to beat them, without cutting you any slack? Remember when you had to draw a location map not to get lost in the maze, or were wary of crossing a funny-looking bridge, in fear of falling to a terrible death? Legend of Kyrandia, in all its classic charm and glory, is the epitome of those games.

Legend of Kyrandia is one of the gems of the classic adventure games era. First in the series of three titles, it established the original setting of Kyrandia, a land of unparalleled beauty, and, at the same time, menacing dangers. Celebrated for its unique tone of mischievous humor and inventive quests, it has also been considered a milestone in adventure games evolution. The game introduced innovative elements to the genre, with extremely simple interface and creative use of inventory items. It also made you suffer and die in many imaginative ways (one of them including a particularly charming slasher smile and a very sharp saw).

Prepare for some old-school questing and lose yourself (literally) in a perilous kingdom of Kyrandia, get Legend of Kyrandia, for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
WooOOOooooOOOOooooooOOOOOOoooooOOOOOooooo!!!

First "I have no mouth and I must scream" then this! Classic adventure games are back baby!

(Forgive my lack of eloquence, I'm happy)
Excellent release GOG :-)
Game sounds awesome with MT-32 emulation, just tried it.
Is this the floppy version or CD version? and which one is better?

It HAS it?

I already own the game on CD but I never got the MT-32 to work, well I'll have to buy it then lol :p

drennan: A truly great series that many missed out on for some reason. The first game is actually my least favourite, it lacks most of the charm and humour of books 2 and 3. I agree with the sentiments above that the series should have been made available as a bundle -- the different tone and perhaps inferior quality of the first game might put some people off.

Nickcronomicon: I actually don't like the third game since it pretty much screws up the canon established by the first game, but to each his own :)
I feel the same. The third one was a good game for itself, but a miserable continuation of the first games.
Now we are talking! :-) Now let us just wait for boooring indie promo on weekend :-D

Well... you'll need to *cough* acquire the Roland roms, but yes ScummVM emulates MT-32 fine

No, it hasn't. You need MT-32 control roms for this feature, and GOG is not allowed to distribute those. But you can manage this for yourself, and Crosmando is right, it sounds awesome. :)

Edit: Too slow. ;)

I preferred hand of Fate but nice nonetheless to have here ...

Fingers crossed parts two and three of this come quicker than Carmageddon 2 has taken...
I wondered for the longest time why this game wasn't here first thing ASAP when EA arrived on Board

This is an excellent release, a real Must have title here

Some people might know Westwood most for it's CnC or Red Alert series but they made other great games and this is one of them

Definitely that, to get the full experience, one should try to enable the Roland MT-32 sounds (and use Munt). I wonder how easy it is to change the sound settings in the GOG version? I presume it defaults to the tinny Adlib/SB sounds.

The later Kyrandia games support also General MIDI, so Munt (nor MT-32/CM-32L ROMs) is not necessarily needed with them anymore.

GOG still has a long, long way to go in terms of "Classic" releases

A site that's best known for classic games doesn't have:

DOOM
Grim Fandango
Command and Conquer

These are just some examples, I know it's not easy to get them but GOG should just look at the front page of the "Most wanted" in the wishlist and focus on that because people want those games the most

Of course, myself, I want the elder scrolls series to be released here more than anything but that's just me
Yes!
