Brandon, I have your saw!

Legend of Kyrandia, an unforgettable, classic point-and-click adventure game packed with wondrous locations, mythical creatures, and downright evil sense of humor, is available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Welcome to the wonderful kingdom of Kyrandia, a land of astounding beauty, home to countless enchanted creatures and spellbinding locations. Alas, dark clouds gather on the horizon: Malcolm, the court jester, has done something terrible and the magical realm will never be the same again. Unless you, Prince Brandon, can achieve the impossible and outfox the demented joker. Remember when adventure games challenged you to beat them, without cutting you any slack? Remember when you had to draw a location map not to get lost in the maze, or were wary of crossing a funny-looking bridge, in fear of falling to a terrible death? Legend of Kyrandia, in all its classic charm and glory, is the epitome of those games.

Legend of Kyrandia is one of the gems of the classic adventure games era. First in the series of three titles, it established the original setting of Kyrandia, a land of unparalleled beauty, and, at the same time, menacing dangers. Celebrated for its unique tone of mischievous humor and inventive quests, it has also been considered a milestone in adventure games evolution. The game introduced innovative elements to the genre, with extremely simple interface and creative use of inventory items. It also made you suffer and die in many imaginative ways (one of them including a particularly charming slasher smile and a very sharp saw).

Prepare for some old-school questing and lose yourself (literally) in a perilous kingdom of Kyrandia, get Legend of Kyrandia, for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

fortune_p_dawg: That, sir, sounds like an epic idea. However I've not played any of the HoMM games multiplayer, but I do find their single player campaigns right addicting.
avatar
Zacron: I've not played them Multiplayer in some years, but I have set them up Hot-Seat and over a virtual LAN to be sure they still work, and they do. Though, not without some additional setup. What time zone are you in? And Would you be down for some HOMM 2? I prefer it more more than any other in the series. With 5 being a possible second choice/ game to play to add variety.
I'm in EST (still at work, ugh come on Friday). And yes HOMM2 is my favorite in the series.

I too, am in EST. Maybe we can set something up this Weekend? Want to Skype while we play?

Zacron: Let's not forget the awesome fact that this uses SCUMMVM, so anyone can purchase this and play it on ANDROID as well!
Even if GOG had used DOSBox you'd still be able to run it in ScummVM. The awesome thing is that ScummVM supports this game, not that GOG used it. :P

benmar: But you should have release'd them all at once.
agree

That is very true, but SVM offers MUCH better Touch Screen support, and is natively supported.

Then buy it and join us! we can play with up to 6 people. :P

Nice! This is what I come here for.
This has got to be one of the top 5 adventure games I ever played. Have been hoping to get this on GOG.com for a long time now (helped with the wishlist) so glad to see you were able to get it! Now just hoping to get the sequels too, I know, I know, never satisfied and what not ;-)

I'm totally in for this weekend if I'm not blindsided by something (pregnant wife, packing to move, etc).

Crosmando: a hugbox where no one is allowed to show emotion
That's quite a quick turnaround there.

Eventually! :) Probably in the coming weeks. For right now, my money is going towards HIB 9.

I wasn't suggesting you use DOSBox on your phone, I was saying that even if GOG had used DOSBox here you'd still be able to use ScummVM on your phone/tablet because the data files are the same. What GOG uses doesn't dictate what you use on your phone, thus it doesn't matter what GOG chose to use as you'd still have the same options for your phone.

Great game. I loved it as kid. Even if I never finished it back then. I only completed it cca 2 years ago, but it was also thank to map of caves I drawed back then and I still have. :-)

Everyone who likes good adventure games should get it.
That is a truly beautiful classic point and click adventure. After I have no mouth and I must scream, another good old game, makes me glad.

fortune_p_dawg: You guys should stop being mean to each other and play some unEpic. It's almost as good as beer and hummus.
"Pretty tasty diarrhea-like substance."

Now I started wondering if ScummVM supports also Kyrandia 2 and 3? I have them already running on DOSBox though, but just some academic interest.
