A cyberpunk thriller of man and metal.

Bioforge, the classic post-human action game with 3D characters, atmospheric pre-rendered locations and memorable story, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Pain. I feel pain. Feel? No. I only register its presence. That metallic taste in my mouth. What is it? Chrome and nitrogen coolant. How did I know that? Need to open eyes. My eyes! What happened to my vision? Why does everything look so sharp and artificial? Oh god! I don't feel my breath. Why don't I breathe? My hands! My body! It's metal! It's frickin' metal! What the hell happened? Where am I? Oh, god... Who... am I? Fear. I think I should feel fear.

Bioforge is a futuristic techno-thriller full of strange cybernetic creatures, ominous corridors, and terrifying mysteries, produced by the creator of the Ultima saga--Richard Garriot himself! You are Lex, a man unwillingly transformed into a cyborg by a dangerous sect of post-human cultists. Deprived of your memories and identity you'll need to navigate your way through a off-world base challenging your wits with puzzles and testing your skills in many action sequences, in a gameplay bearing a strong resemblance to the classic Alone in the Dark series. Can you escape from the clutches of insane fanatics, fight your way through the many horrors of your prison, and salvage whatever scraps of your memories and your humanity you might find?

Wake up to a nightmare of flesh, chrome, and oblivion and discover the horrible secrets of the Bioforge, for only 5.99!

gandalf.nho: Never played this one. How is the gameplay and difficulty?

mobutu: I loved it. The controls can be a litle bit frustrating at the begining but the learning curve is pretty fast so you'll get used to it in no time. The plot is very very nice. The puzzles are also great. But its a game on the harder side, its just how the games were done those time. A superb game, highly recommended.
Thanks for the answer
If you set combat to easy, you won't need any moves but the straight right leg kick. It's fast and beats soldiers and even the raptor into submission.
The game has a wily way of forcing you into melee. Shortly after you find the gun, the enemies turn on reflective shielding making the basic blaster useless.
Epic release. What a classic! It brings back memories. It's a must have for me.
Good job GOG! Keep it up! I want to see more releases like this.
Thanks! I always wanted to play that one, but never got the opportunity. Instawishlisted. :)
Yay, Bioforge. Now just to get used to again to those even then awkward controls. ;)
Oh dear, now that brings back memories. I actually had that disc a long time ago. Good old PC Player. This was actually my favorite episode by far.

That and having to boot up Windows 3.1 just to watch these silly things.
I think I played a demo of this back in the day.
Ooh wishlisted.
I can't wait to beat a man to death with his own arm again.

Pssh. Are you saying you don't do that in real life on a daily basis? Lame.

I once beat TNO's mortality into submission with TNO's past self's detached arm.

I've been waiting for this one, very fond memories...I'll buy this in a little while for sure :)
Not the Bio- prefaced game that everyone was expecting, eh?
Fuck yeah,

thanks for the release of such an innovative game, the "spiritual prequel" to System Shock. I gotta replay this soon. :)
Well, this is as classic as it gets today, I'm afraid.
