Get your virtual table-top ready for an adventure in Temeria!

The Witcher Adventure Game, the digital installment of the board game set in the dark fantasy realm of The Witcher, is available 10% off for pre-orders, for Windows and Mac OS X, on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 until November 27, when we expect the game to launch. If you were taking part in the beta-test program for this title, you get a special (non-stackable) 40% off discount, valid until December 27.

The Witcher Adventure Game takes players on a journey across the world of the Witcher as they assume the roles of four distinct characters known from the books and video games: Geralt of Rivia, monster slayer; Triss Merigold, cunning sorceress; Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior; and Dandelion, roguish bard. Each character has unique skills and multiple ways of overcoming obstacles - the choice is yours: do you fight your way to victory, call on your charm or try your hand at diplomacy? It's the true spirit of board gaming brought straight to your computer screen. Set in the mature and brutal world of The Witcher the game features 4 unique heroes with different skills and approaches to problem solving. With clear, simple rules and intuitive mechanics, tons of quest cards allow players to tell a new tale every time they play. Look adventure in the eye in a world with which you'll fall in love!

Time to research all the good-luck spells and enchantments that work on virtual dice, as you prepare to launch your first campaign in The Witcher Adventure Game, for only $8.99 (or $5.99 if you were among the beta-testers!), on GOG.com. The special pre-order discount lasts until December 4, the expected day of the game's release. The 40% off special discount for beta-test participants remains valid one month after the game's release.

**$8.99 is the discounted price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package").
I'm very interested, I've never really tried (virtual) card games, but have good things about them from friends. I'll probably get this when it arrives at the store.
Is there single-player in this version, or is it still multiplayer-only?

Dumb question, I know, but I gotta ask.

edit: Wait, it says "Play vs. AI." Right there. I am sooooo observant. Whoops

I played the Beta and I really enjoyed it. I will pick this up, but seriously GOG could /would you not prompt CDPR to releasing their games without the regional pricing.
Or are we slowly seeing my prediction of the entire store being priced by region?

This isn't a card game. It's board game with some cards. Difference is huge.
Yahoo! I can't wait. I have played the closed beta a lot and it's a lot of fun. The best way to enjoy this game even more is to talk with the other player through skype. It will feel more like you're actually playing a board game that way. A bit taken aback by the regional pricing. I know I'll be pre-ordering it, but I just find it strange. I actually expected a price tag of 20 euro and was hoping for 15. Now with the big discount as well, I'm more than happy.
I had all the best intentions, but due to this "busy" year I never got around to play the beta. :(

Also, I'll join the crowd: I really wonder why, among all the companies in this world and (afaik) even without being harassed by Bandai-Namco, CDProject RED decided to go for the regional pricing. If you give us the "refund" in store credit anyway, what difference does it make for you? O_o7

Frostyfirefly: I wonder if ti's good, some gamers have compared it to Runebound and that there is very little interaction between players.

I kinda liked Runebound though, and I'm ok with solitary multiplayer.

Leroux: What bothered me when I tried the beta was that although there was next to no interaction between players and it was hardly important to follow what the other players were doing, the camera still forced you to witness it, always interrupting what you were doing during other players' turns, so that you couldn't even study your own cards and plan your next moves until it was your turn again.

Of course, there's a possibility that they improved on it due to the feedback they got.
That does sound like an issue, I hope they did improve it.
I played the beta quite a bit, so the discount is nice.
While, as others have said, there's not much interaction between players, I still thought it was a fun game.

I think I'll also get the physical boardgame too. I love me some boardgames!

That's actually pretty cool! Is the beta still ongoing? Anyone feel like a game to celebrate the impending release? Shoot me a PM if I'm still showing up online and maybe we can get a quick on it?

Not if I beat you to it!
As a fan of Fantasy Flight, I'm very tempted to get this. What'll the retail version cost? I know most of theirs are in the higher end of the spectrum for board games.

Also looking forward to their adaptation of XCOM. In the meantime, I'll continue loving my copy of StarCraft: The Board Game.

AI long time ago I made the decision to pick up either Twilight Imperium 3rd or StarCraft. I went with TI3, thinking I'd go back and get StarCraft another time. Of course to this day you can grab a copy of TI3, but StarCraft is so out of print you have to sacrifice cats and dogs to the dark Blizzard gods and do terrible things at truckstops to get one.

According to the FF website, it'll be $59.95!
Not too expensive.
Pleased to see this game offered-- as a boardgamer, my first stop was boardgamegeek.com to see what was being said about it there. Most of the beta testers seemed underwhelmed, unfortunately, and that was presumably from the perspective of tabletop gamers. Think I'll just hope for the best and wait for some reviews as well.

Fantasy Flight games appears to have started making a pretty hard push to turn some of their 'lighter' fare into games/apps, which is nice. The bad part is that it follows their general "Johnny Longtorso" marketing model (for the MSTies out there). First, you buy the base game. Playable, but not a ton of options for replayability. That comes with a steady stream of content-adding expansions approaching the cost of the initial game. It's tough to imagine Fantsy Flight not already having a few DLC additions in mind, for better or worse.

Just my two cents as a tabletop player.
