Get your virtual table-top ready for an adventure in Temeria!

The Witcher Adventure Game, the digital installment of the board game set in the dark fantasy realm of The Witcher, is available 10% off for pre-orders, for Windows and Mac OS X, on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 until November 27, when we expect the game to launch. If you were taking part in the beta-test program for this title, you get a special (non-stackable) 40% off discount, valid until December 27.

The Witcher Adventure Game takes players on a journey across the world of the Witcher as they assume the roles of four distinct characters known from the books and video games: Geralt of Rivia, monster slayer; Triss Merigold, cunning sorceress; Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior; and Dandelion, roguish bard. Each character has unique skills and multiple ways of overcoming obstacles - the choice is yours: do you fight your way to victory, call on your charm or try your hand at diplomacy? It's the true spirit of board gaming brought straight to your computer screen. Set in the mature and brutal world of The Witcher the game features 4 unique heroes with different skills and approaches to problem solving. With clear, simple rules and intuitive mechanics, tons of quest cards allow players to tell a new tale every time they play. Look adventure in the eye in a world with which you'll fall in love!

Time to research all the good-luck spells and enchantments that work on virtual dice, as you prepare to launch your first campaign in The Witcher Adventure Game, for only $8.99 (or $5.99 if you were among the beta-testers!), on GOG.com. The special pre-order discount lasts until December 4, the expected day of the game's release. The 40% off special discount for beta-test participants remains valid one month after the game's release.

**$8.99 is the discounted price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package").

MrAlphaNumeric: So does the online Beta version turn into the full version on release or is a separate purchase required?
avatar
JudasIscariot: Separate purchase is required with the 40% discount which will make it $3.99.
No probs, just making sure I don't buy it in error as it doesn't show up as OWNED.
Will buy :)

Thanks!

$5.99 final price. $3.9999999 off.
What happens to the beta releases we have once the full game is out?

Dunno if it's just sterling but it's showing -9% on the banner for me but the correct discount on the actual purchase page, or is the 9% discount for people who didn't sign up to the beta?

mqstout: Sadly, the game's not very fun. There's almost no player-to-player interaction, and there's pretty much no reason to pay attention on another player's turn. And your turn is largely random. It's really largely a "roll, go" kind of game with very little strategy.
There was some randomization, but I thought that a lot of strategy went into it. When to go, went to stay, when to get perks, when to drive toward quests, etc. The randomness just kept you on your toes.

That said, it's not one of the greatest games on GOG. It's a good board game to play with a few friends. Most non-friends I played with just played a few rounds then bolted. But if you have a group of 2 or 3 friends who like board games, this is fun to play with a bit of Skyping catching up on each other's lives.

Are you sure it's 3.99? I'm looking at the game order page and it's showing up as 5.99

Fever_Discordia: Also didn't 'This War of Mine' appear on the banner before this one? Where's it's news post?
Looks like it's coming out on the 14th:

Can anyone confirm that it's $3.99 for US buyers. Would be heavy regional pricing, I have to pay $7.49 (including the 40% discount).

I am seeing $5.99 when I check the store page.
high rated

PaterAlf: So another regional priced game by CDPR. You blamed Namco Bandai for it the last time. What's your excuse for this game?
I wanted to ask the same thing. I would like an official statement without the usual blamedodging truthbending wording.

Also, what example could you set for other publishers you assert you are trying to convince to drop regional pricing, if you are not able to do that with your own games?

Yeah I am also seeing that price and honestly... I am a bit pissed since this is clearly not VAT and not some retail thing...

[edit]OK according to the news it is not 3.99 but 5.99, so Judas probably put in a wrong number :-)

I'm seeing £6.39 = $10.15 with the discount 9% (from £6.99) on the front page
and
£4.29 = $6.81 with 39% discount (from £6.99) on the game card page.

Where is this $3.99 you speak of?
