MarkoH01: Don't know if this helps. But this is some of the postings from the devs on steam:

"Hi everyone !
In order to hide the mouse in windowed mode, we recommend to start in Full Screen, and then press Alt-Tab to get back to windowed mode.
Sorry for the inconvenience !"
avatar
IronArcturus: That seems to help! Thanks! :) But the combo that worked for me was Alt+Enter.
I just copy+pasted it. But you are right: changing between windowed and fs always was ALT+Enter. Alt+Tab is used to change between applications.

Yeah. So did the devs say whether the windows cursor issue would be fixed in a future release?

They did not exactly say that but they consider workarounds not a permanent solution and they try to adress every issue the users bring to their attention. Unfortunately they are a small team so it could take a while. On Steam they already have updated the release several time but I think it will take a little until they give a new release to GOG. Maybe they fix some additional issues before updating here again. If you are interested you can read several posts from them in the steam forum.
Why aren't GOG announcing this?
I picked up the old outpost but it says 1.1 I need to re purchase it? odd

If you have already bought the original Outcast on GOG, you should have version 1.1 now.

Outcast in its time was revolutionary. The main difference from normal TPS is that it is made with Voxels. This way they created beautiful landscapes only with the CPU. There is no GPU acceleration which normally is not a good sign but the look of this is - even if it is a bit edgy - unique. The second part is that it is not a linear TPS but more of an open world game with an epic story and great voice over, You should really take a look at some Let's Plays and you should think about one other thing: why has a game from 1999 that does need a powerful machine even now to play in HD (and still don't look much HD) still has so much interest? Outtcast is imo an outstanding game it was great then and it is still fun to play nowadays. You have tons of quests and dialogues, beautiful worlds to explore and due to the Voxel engine (think of Novalogics Comanche if you don't know how Voxels look) you really have the feeling to be in this world. It was the first game I bought on GOG (hey, it was the only reason I ever heard something of GOG) and I would buy it again if I had not already done so.

I think Marko's post still does not at all convey the magic of Outcast. Outcast is one of those games that can cast a spell on you almost the moment you launch it. You instantly start caring about the world and its inhabitants, you instantly feel important. It's also a game with a fantasy/sci-fi world that you really want to explore and learn about. During the first couple of minutes you may not understand a word the alien natives are saying, towards the end of the game you know their entire mythology and all of their weird words by heart.

Also Outcast is a game that doesn't let itself get limited by genre definitions. It's a third person shooter (with optional first person perspective including free aiming and a visible weapon hand), it's an action adventure, there's also some stealth thrown in but ultimately it's an incredibly epic and modern RPG. The most organic RPG I've ever played, on top of that. There's no experience points, there are no "quests" - you find out about the different tasks just by talking to various NPCs, there's no clear separation between optional and mandatory tasks in a quest log, it all blends together, it's just your common sense that tells you what will get you ahead. You don't get a "du duuuuum - QUEST COMPLETE!" when you do something, you just know that you just did something for someone in the world and are (sometimes) rewarded in a believable way. You don't have a hero who is a wimp early on and magically unlocks new skills and eventually goes OVER 9000, instead you upgrade and find new weapons and weaken the enemies by sabotaging their war machinery. And you don't have NPC markers on a map, you ask NPCs if they know / have seen someone and they give you directions or point at him with their friggin' hand. That's the kind of game Outcast is.

In my eyes Outcast shows what action adventures, RPGs and sandbox games should have been but never became. And shockingly aside from the graphics (which are still gorgeous IMO) it hasn't aged almost at all. It's highly accessible, has solid combat, is fully voiced, has a genuine orchestral soundtrack etc.. It's pure awesome.

I made a gif comparison between the original release of Outcast (without mods) and Outcast 1.1: link

(just ignore the HUD, I cropped the images to align the in-game objects)

OMG the difference is huge! I thought they only updated the code for modern OS compatibility, no idea about visual enhancements.

Thanks a lot for making that gif. :)

Also, there was a post about the update with the proper name. Why this one here got more attention is a mystery. :P

Yes, they completeley updated it and they announced to add even more additional things. On Steam the game already has received 2 or three updates. GOG has received the newest version but ... well .. it is GOG so it takes a bit.
