JudasIscariot: If you think games are expensive in France, then you ought to see what it's like in the former Eastern Block countries i.e. central and Eastern Europe. You'll be glad to live in France after that bit of culture shock.

lukaszthegreat: Poland ain't that bad mate. to the earnings games might be expensive but to prices in the west like UK or Australia... well they are smaller. and there is waaay more games per shop than in shops like game, ebgames or internet shops.

speaking bout pc games.
They are smaller for western currencies but unfortunately, digital distributors make PL use Euros which are ungodly expensive in PLNs, not to mention the exchange fees.. Seeing someone complain about prices when they are earning more than 300 EU/month irks me.
Polish video game prices are around twice lower than in Western Europe.

Polish earnings are about 4 times lower in average than in Western Europe.

for example, English waiter earns for a brand new game for 6 hours in his job. Polish waiter would have to work for 2 days to earn for the same game in Poland.

still 90 AUD was quite expensive even tough i made 400 AUD per week which ain't that much in downunder as it is here in poland

origin is priced in pln not eur. it is way cheaper than steam. not cheaper than retail i think.

That's why Western Euros have no right to moan about expensive prices while they roll in their Eurodollars while blinging out their cars with Eurocents :P.

Waiter in the south of Macedonia would have to work a full week (without buying food and other necessary things to survive) to be able to afford a 60 EUR game.

I wasn't counting 60 EUR

I was counting like this: english waiter has to spend around 30GBP/45EUR for game
Polish waiter - 100 PLN (25 EUR)

Polish waiter would also have to work the whole week for 60 EUR, not counting tips.

Honestly, that "2K complete Pack" is very tempting. I only own 2 of the games in that list (Sid Meier's Pirates and X-Com UFO Defense, neither on Steam), and I had already been thinking about getting Civ 4 or Civ 5 and Borderlands, even before this sale. There are quite a few good games on there I haven't played, so it might not be a bad buy. The trouble is that I already have a backlog of games I already own and want to play, and buying this package would just make it 10 times worse. I'll probably wait an see what others deals come up before I make a decision, since this deal is good until July 10th.

If I do end up buying this, is anyone interested in a free Mafia 2 activation code? I got the steam code with an nVidia card I bought a month or so back and never got around to using it. If I get this package, it will be rather redundant.
Would anybody in the US be interested in gifting me the Heroes V Pack and KOTOR ($7.50 total) in exchange for a $10 GOG? If so, PM me.

Daedalus1138: I'm interested in HoMM V, but I don't know if I should get it. I have a hard time getting into strategy games, especially if they are difficult. So I'd kind of like to know how difficult it is. Any info would be much appreciated.

It would also be my first turn-based strategy game, so I'd also like to know how easy it is to "get into" the game.
HOMM5 is very easy to get into, just like all the other Heroes games. At 2.50 you really can't go wrong with it.

Word of advice, the sale is a bit of a trick. If you just buy Tribes of the East, you get everything in the base game and I believe the first expansion. Atleast I've always been able to play with the expansion faction in that.

So you can just get TOEE and save two dollars. Or get it all, whichever.
Thanks for the reply.

If I do end up getting it, I'll just get the whole pack (or whatever you want to call it), because Dark Messiah also looks interesting.
Just Cause 2 is a steal at $5.
Is it just me or is there no GTA classics pack. The steam update news popup thing has a picture of all the deals and its got "Grand theft auto classics" -75% but in the store deals page its got everything but that and there is no pack just a 33% discount on the games

That means it's been region restricted in Australia. Even -I- can see the full discount, which is odd since Rockstar hates Mexico.

I'm currently waffling between KOTOR and Battlefront II. Any advice on those?

They are both really good, imho. I generally dislike FPS type games, but I did enjoy playing Battlefront II quite a bit. Knights of the Old Republic is a top tier RPG, though, so in my my mind there is no contest and KotOR wins. However, Battlefront II does have 100% less Carth Onasi... hehe.

Basically, if you like FPS type games better, take Battlefront II, but if you like RPGs better, pick KotOR.
