Rohan15: Going to preorder the moment I can.

Fujek: Is GW2 going to be 'playable' (as in enjoyable and easy enough to accommodate with) for people that haven't played GW(1)?
If the price tag isn't absurd on that one, I think I'm going to join and would love to travel with a few fellow GOG members ;)
Absolutely. The setting of GW2 will be a few centuries AFTER GW1, so you don't need to have completed GW1 because, for example, you won't be able to import your characters.

The only advantage to play GW1 before is the hall of Eye of the North, where the titles you achieved in GW1 are registered and will give you some extras in GW2. Nothing gamebreaking: some pets, some skins, some fancy items but all will be balanced.

And I expect the price tag of GW2 to be the same than GW1 when it was released, around 45$. Remember that GW 2 will be like GW1, no monthly fee!

And they confirmed that they will continue to support GW1 when GW2 will be released, so if you want, you can even do GW1 after the release of GW2 and maybe get those fancy items ^_^

Yep, it should be playable for those who hasn't play GW1. I think that the price tag is really worth it, considering that there is no monthly fee on it. :D Full price tag for full scale MMO? No monthly fee? I'm sold. :D And I don't even buy new games at release, lol.

Fantasysci5: Kings Bounty is so worth it, loved every moment of it, instant favorite game, although I might be biased since I like turn-based more than real-time strategy. Love those games.

And I passed up on Guild Wars, but now am kind of regretting it. Maybe Steam will have a re-sales day. :/ You guys make it sound so awesome...

Rohan15: It's awesome. Just got done defending some Oriental slums from wave after wave of undead.
No no no...Rohan, they're AFFLICTED not undead. INSISTENT TERMINOLOGY :)

Still, despite what a lot of people say about it, I really like that mission. There isn't a better place to let your mass AOE wipe out horde and horde and laugh as the melee of opposing team die to those soul explosions :)
I've spent almost as much as i was going to limit myself too and there are still a few days left, i will have to be careful.

I'm going to have to be very picky now, Jamestown is cheap but Heroes 5 was the same price and i also got Beat hazard cheaper.

Edit: According to this thread, Sanctum will be 75% off in todays deal.

Has anyone played Jamestown?

I like that style of game but I'm not sure if I want to add it to the pile of stuff I have if it isn't awesome. This is the first thing I've been semi-interested in during the sale.

oasis789: did dragon age already have a franchise sale?
Yes. It was €35 for both games (I think).
Sorry about this newbish question but am I correct in assuming that all discounts on other games that are not on Steam's front page are only valid as long as the Summer Cmap event is running? I was thinking about getting WadjetEye's Emerald City Confidential which is currently 50% off. Will it be full price again on Monday?

As long as it isn't one of the summer camp activities OR on the front page then you should be alright in that regard.

Yes, it will return to normal. Buy it before monday.
All current price reductions are tied to the summer sale.

MGShogun: I'd love to get Batman: Arkham Asylum but this is what scared me the most:

3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™
4 machine activation limit

X.X OMFG
That with gfwl on top of it.
I can't understand how can you infect such a great game with shit like this.

Damn you people saying GW is good... I've never played MMO's before and usually avoid them like the plague due to wanting to still have a life away from my computer

Is it still worth it if I'm either going into it by myself or possibly one other?

EDIT: misspelling

Your probably better off waiting for Guild Wars 2 since even with the sale guild wars is still expensive.

If you do buy the trilogy however, do remember it doesn't contain Eye of the North which is necessary to earn Monument items to link to your guild wars 2 account.
So far, my wallet is safe.

I almost bit on Battlefield Bad Company 2 for $5. If that goes on sale again, I doubt I'd be able to resist it!

If you're gonna play with a friend I'd say it's definitely worth it, but I'd suggest you both do some research beforehand and make sure the game fits your tastes. Solo, I'd say it's probably more enjoyable than most MMO's, but you might feel a bit lonely from time to time when you leave the cities (which are the only places you'll see other players), though there is a certain tranquility to the solo experience as well ;-)
