Piranjade: I hope GOG takes advantage of this situation and does a Dungeon Keeper themed sale. :-)
avatar
Wishbone: Given that they probably need a publisher agreement for a sale, that's probably not likely. Unless someone at EA really appreciates self irony.
Who knows - EA is a huge company, and the people in one department do not necessarily know or support what the people in a different department are doing. If I were GOG, I'd definitely ask about a sale of the old DK games. The chances that it gets declined are higher than the chances to get it approved, but you never know. ;)

TheChap: Good, people feel way about that game. It's pretty much just a childish dungeon keeper with the same design of Clash of Clans + slow gameplay to make you use gem which are a part of micro-transactions... And it has 5 star rating on the App Store!! (People have no logic nowadays)
To me, that's the scary part. Companies abusing mobile gamers and microtransactions is something I can understand. Gamers falling for it, I will sigh and shake my head. That people would actually enjoy it and go out of their way to actively promote something like this.... it's utterly unvelieable. I would be more willing to believe that EA CEO personally made each and every single one of those 5 star reviews than players actually enjoyed the game and wanted to share that enjoyment with the world.

SCPM: There's a silver lining to this. Take a look at the Top selling list on GOG's home page. ;)

tokisto: Hahaha, same happened with SimCity... EA, you´re helping GOG and yourself to sell more oldies!
I sort-of enjoyed the new SimCity, the map size isn't that small for me but the offline update coming soon is very good for me to enjoy this at school. But Simcity 3000 is my favourite SimCity just needs to be release on this site for Windows and OSX. Then I playing it from dusk onto dawn!
From how the Blue's on this board talk about their relationship with EA, it doesn't sound like it's much more than GOG know one guy or something from EA who does all the business such as putting games on GOG, authorizing sales, etc. I doubt there's any real "relationship" between GOG and EA, especially given the extremely slow pace of EA games actually coming here, given how long they've been on GOG.
I have personally only played dungeon keeper 2 and about 5 minutes ago, after finding out how many 5 star reviews this thing has, the mobile version.. just to clear that up the reviews for the mobile version. By all that is evil, how can such a game if you can call it a game. Get that many good reviews. being able to clear out about 2 blocks every once in 24 hours? How the fuck is that mobile gaming? i can grab a 3ds and play any number of games that allow me to play through the whole dam day or a few hours if i can't find a place to plug it in.
I saw this "game", and gave it a try.

Wish I didn't. :(

I so wish I didn't.

It's not the great game by Bullfrog I remember happily playing for hours, I refuse to call it by that name.

It's not a game, it's a money pit. In this "game", you're not the evil overlord, you're the hapless hero being beaten to a pulp and having your lunch money stolen.

Now, I'm going to go and play Dungeon Keeper and try to forget I ever had this travesty on my phone.

iippo: weirdly Enough ea is appsrently Making money With the mobile dk. My Guess Would be the "new" gamers These days just have not Really Player any computer or Even cpnsole games before. Playing n smart Phone and tablets is probably All the family experence They have - Thus money-milking take games Like This Are not frowned upon by Them. They Simply do not know Better.

it doesnt Really matter if You're 5years, 20 Years or 70 Years old either, if mobile gaming makes Up the Whole concept of gaming for You.

companied Like ea Are ofcourse just Happy to find new vic...audiences.

Wow, after watching, reading, and looking at this game... I no longer feel bad for playing Mavel Puzzle Quest pay wall.

This game makes all other freemium/microtransaction games not look so bad. It truely is vile.
To all the people wondering about the multitude of 5-star reviews, this is the explanation. I'm sorry, I haven't been able to find anything "official", any screenshots or videos actually showing this, but if true it can't be long before some become available.

If this isn't illegal, then it certainly should be. Official paid public astroturfing, how can that be considered acceptable?

Oh, I actually remember seeing that.
And then doing my best to phase it out of my memory.
So, thank you? I guess..
It's a new day today, and I hate EA more than I did yesterday .
This is pretty bad.
Whoah, something in that could be free!?

that...abomination reminded me that I always wanted to try the Dungeon Keeper series so I bought the set. EA continues to help gog sell the classics
dafuq?

Is that screenshot real?
