One thing that Linux/Windows users can do that Mac users can't is SHUTTING THE HELL UP!
Every time i run into some hipster douchebag and his Steve Jobs crotchspawn i have to grab a hold of the ol' bowler hat to prevent it from blowing away in a rush of hot air. Granted, stylish, funtional and trendy hot air, if a bit smelly.
Unix makes the world go round people!
Edit: By the way Wraith, thanks for introducing me to a new webcomic!

Perhaps you just don't notice those who do?

You are right, those that do are the best users. =)

Seriously, have you even met a Mac user?

Menelkir: Some words or something

Aww, aren't you precious.
Guys, isn't he precious?

I have to work with six of them from monday to friday. One is alright, two are annoying, another two can't stop talking about whatever Apple just released and the last one has an actual picture of Jobs in his cubicle. Most of the staff avoids that one like the plague. I have to deal with him on a daily basis (he's one of my bosses).

He's probably met a lot of the silent ones, he just doesn't know it yet since they don't announce their affiliation with a neon sign and a megaphone.

cogadh: Well, there's your problem, that might as well have been a completely different operating system back then. Linux in all its flavors is very different today.
However, I would not recommend Slackware to anyone just starting out with Linux. That is truly the Linux for people who like build completely from scratch and know, in great detail, exactly what they are doing. If anyone is going to try out Linux for the first time, they are much better off going with Ubuntu or one of its variants, they are completely built around an "ease of use" experience, unlike other Linux distros.

I also used Ubuntu for a while because my Windows laptop was being fixed, and I quite liked it but still, virtualization is a bitch.
I really never understood this mac vs. pc, or windows.
If you treat you system goods PC´s dont crash like all mac people like to say. When Computers crash, Win, Mac or Linux, Because of bad handling.
Personally I use Mac because I work alot faster on them. I also have Windows installed so I can play all those GOG games :)
oh, and the prize argument, isn´t as strong as PC people might think, just compare a little! and look what you get for your money.
Just had to get that off my mind!

Please let's not go on the "compare and look what you get for your money" because, talking only hardware, PCs got Macs beaten when it comes to pure power at every level (consumer desktop, workstation and laptop).
Could we just end this discussion saying that different hardware fits different people? This is seriously going nowhere.
I posted the picture to end the thread, but nobody seemed to get the message of it.
I don't think you'll ever be able to end this argument :-P.

Its like trying to forge peace in the Middle East, there's always just one more thing that will piss off the other side and start the whole thing all over again.
