As a "member" (50$+) you will also receive the other two games later when(if) they are released but it wont be during the first year. It's understandable unless they have a very big team and therefore a very big budget they won't be able to produce three full games in a year.

I'm thinking the rewards are really a double-edged sword for Jane, and is working against the project's funding right now. I mean, look at the $200 tier. A boxed version of one adventure game at $200, even from an author with a well-known track record, is very expensive, but if they hit the $600k mark, they will make 2 games, meaning you get 2 hard copy games for $200.

It's like a risk-reward mechanism. You pledge more, you get more, but in order to hit that target, everyone has to cooperatively agree to increase their pledges. I'm guessing most people are on the fence, waiting for the other to make his move. It's the dominant strategy of the game right now, and frankly I don't blame them.

Agree, with only the possibility for a second game, the rewards are too expensive, especially when there're signs of Kickstarter saturation.
It looks like people don't believe the campaign will make the $600,000 mark and the children's book isn't apealing enough - I think she sort of undermined it herself in the video update #1.

There's mention of alternative funding sources if the $600,000 is not met, but it's all too vague to convince people.

I expected the campaign to do better after the voting, instead the results seem to have driven the Gray Matter fans away.

Oh well, there's more than 3 weeks left.

I agree that the rewards are not ideal - I'm sure that they could have raised more money if they had structured the reward levels better.

I pledged $50 and might just go a little higher, but there's little incentive to do so. For $100 you get a simple DVD copy of the game and a CD of the soundtrack (and a T-shirt), but no game box. And $200 for an actual cardboard box is just too much, I think.

Anyway, according to some people in the comments Jane has said in a chat that she's 99% certain that they will make two adventure games this season, even if the Kickstarter doesn't reach 600k.

I didn't see Jane's actual statement though, so I have no idea how accurate this is.

Yeah it's not the greatest kickstarter. However I, and probably everyone else who backed, are willing to go out on a limb just for the chance to get another game like Gabriel Knight.

I know its unlikely to happen, but if we don't keep backing these adventure game projects, we may not get another chance.

Still waiting for the Tex Murphy campaign too...

I think Pinkerton Road is the best chance of ever getting GK4. If Jane has her own company, she'll be able to buy the rights back and continue the series.

It's a long shot, but realistically the best option right now.

Of course it's not guaranteed to happen, but it's a chance Jane has hinted at herself. Actually she soulds pretty hopeful about it.

I'm hoping for that. But I will not regret the $50 even if that is not going to be the case.

I agree, it's not a very good Kickstarter. Its content is confusing, the reward tiers are confusing, the pitch video is far too long and boring, only Raleigh is cute and she doesn't really have anything to do with it. I'm still kind of shocked that the Larry project got so much more than this one, though.

Well they have been a lot clearer with the aims and scope of their project. Also their video was alot better. And they've manage to gather more ex-sierra staff.

On a side-note, did you see that music update with Robert Holmes. Worth watching just to hear the Gabriel Knight theme again.

Yeah, but the actual content of the project is so much worse. I'm not at all sure people are actually making informed decisions here (yeah, I'm naïve that way).
