I would love to find some classic Square Enix titles such as Kingdom Hearts in here
if Square Enix is on board, would Kingdom Hearts appear here?

Daedolon: I almost bought that, but apparently it's bug-ridden filth that crashes constantly. I can't confirm that because I obviously didn't buy it after hearing those rumours.
I'm not sure where you heard the rumours, but they're certainly not true. They're not perfect, and the way they butchered the soundtracks to Road Rash 1-3 by replacing them with some generic soundtrack was appalling, but the games themselves work fine and play fine. Wing Commander and Syndicate sucked balls on the SNES, but they are still very faithful to the original SNES versions.

It's not the same, those game are from PC, ScummVM and DOSBox are included because they originally run in MS-DOS. You are talking about console games, so we need emulation, and that is something illegal seeing from companies perspective.

You seem new to the PC gaming.

DarkMaverik: I think people sometimes put too much stock in DRM being a big thing that we all have to worry about. Yeah, it sucks MASSIVELY when Assassins Creed comes out and you can only play it with a constant internet connection etc...

But Deus Ex & Hitman have pretty innocuous DRM if any. I mean, yeah, ok. Your friends can't take a free copy home cus it's on your steam account. But so what? Fighting against DRM shouldn't be about trying to get stuff for free. Every time I've wanted to give a friend a GoG game that I already own, I gift them a copy. I don't just hand them my file. Because I LIKE GoG and want it to make the money it deserves. Same goes for Steam.

jamyskis: If I didn't have Deus Ex and Hitman already on disc, I would have bought the GOG versions in a heartbeat for their lack of DRM. I've experienced plenty of situations where I've been unable to play my Steam games - on a train, at my in-laws for whom WLAN sounds like a public transport network, or when our internet dies (and it does - frequently - as we live in the country).

Not to mention when Steam itself is overloaded during sales periods.
While it's true that Steam can have downtime, it's also true that if you're the kind of person who experiences such downtimes, you can easily fix the "Steam doesn't work in offline mode" bug. Just look into it.

DOSBox is an emulator. It emulates the OS, processor, video, audio and input hardware like any NES or SNES emulator.

Offline mode works fine with me. The problem is if I decide to install a game en route, I'm buggered. You need to have been online once with the game installed for offline to work.

I and the community welcome Square Enix with Eidos to GOG

This was long overdue but we finally got another big publisher on Board, here's to many, many great future releases from them (Thief, FF7, Last Remnant, Lara Croft) and many others

Oh well, I didn't know about the illegal part. Here's hoping for Commandos and Thief then.
