CaptainGyro: Cool. You told me something I already knew once again. I didn't say that he said the regular bundles would stop
avatar
SirPrimalform: You practically did, stop being a dick:

CaptainGyro: You definitely strongly suggested the the regular bundles would be practically gone though so to me you're still spewing BS.
avatar
SirPrimalform: No he didn't. Stop acting all smug and acknowledge the fact that you misunderstood him.
I see absolutely no reason to, sorry

Well I feel I've demonstrated how you have either misunderstood or deliberately misrepresented what he said. You're welcome to not acknowledge it, but I have to say it's severely lowered my opinion of you. =(
I withdraw from this particular discussion.
This thread is filled with people so annoyed they are blind to rational arguments... on BOTH sides.

The truth is always in the middle. Is a bundle of cheap AAA games that benefits charity a good thing despite the Steam requirement? YES. Do most consumers accept Steam or even outright prefer it to DRM free? YES.

On the other hand, is it a bummer that a DRM free website that persuaded people to go DRM free to be on their site is now selling just Steam keys? YES. Does this mean future bundles will more likely have Windows only versions or Steam only versions? YES. Does DRM have real dangers and risk despite the benefits which justifies some people boycotting it if it means that much to them? YES.

Why can't all these be right? If you are arguing strongly against any of them, ask yourself why.

I don't think I have argued against any of the former points, just argued for the latter ones against people who only see the former. :P

ok. I think it's pretty rash of you to let something like this severely lower an opinion of somebody, but whatever. Later.

Well it was your cocky dismissal too.
I like how people are using the charities to try to protect the Humble Bundle from criticism.

"You don't like what the Humble Bundle is doing? Why do you hate charities?!?!?!?"

Edit: Typo

Immoli: Why do you hate charities?!?!?!?
Which of the Red Crosses pushed to replace crosses with pills on Doom first aid kits?

This happened to me in the RPS article's comments. Was super annoying and I haven't gone back to look since I informed them how much I paid for a humble bundle is not at all reflective of what I contribute to charity or society, you ignorant fucks.

RPS is like a hive mind of pretentiousness though.

I'm curious. Have you actually re-read the thread and all that Kristian has said, where you can see the context of those quotes? Because as convinced as you are that I misrepresented him, I'm pretty confident that I didnt. I said he SUGGESTED ( meaning he implied as a possibility) that the oldstyle Humble Bundles would be very rare( NOT that they would stop appearing altogether) . Reading through the thread, I have no idea how anybody could miss it.Those quotes were just a small sample. The only reason I didn't quote more posts or the actual convos is because it would be a huge pain in the ass, and it would also result in a clusterfuck of a post. I honestly think you should re-read the thread.

No, I'm just throwing out the reasons for hating particular charities, though the Red Cross bull is on the British
In the UK, the British Red Cross is the only civilian organisation authorised by the government to use the red cross emblem and name. Their unauthorised use may be a criminal offence under the Geneva Conventions Act 1957

To be fair, many of their writers are rather pretentious as well, though. Since PC Gamer forums existed in 1999, these same writers attracted pretentious fans because of this - in fact, one of those later became the editor of PC Gamer (Tim Edwards). Not a fan of him because his WoW fanboyism made the magazine unreadable.
