Petrell: Even 5.99$ would be hard to swallow for just HoMM 1. They really should have offered at least HoMM 1&2+Expansions for 5.99 and HoMM 3&4+Expansions for 9.99$.
Nissur: I think 5.99 is a fair price personally. I think it is important to remember that a deal here on GOG does not only incorporate the main product itself. Firstly it is guaranteed to work on both Vista and XP, and you get access to technichal service if any problems appear. Secondly there is the bonus material.
I own HoMM 2 but it constantly crashed on my older XP computer, and I would definitely pay to get a compatible version without having to fiddle around the internet for solution for several hours. Personally I think the addition of HoMM is priceless. 6 $ is fine, and a good price.
Very good point. Frankly, there are all kinds of ways to get games, but GOG makes games play okay on Vista and XP, and without any serious research and tinkering and wanting to punch yourself in the face, and that is pretty huge. That along with their anti-DRM stance makes me a very loyal customer who tells everybody about GOG whenever he can.
Regarding pricing, to be honest, I don't care about the difference between $5.99 and $9.99. If I can afford one, I can afford the other. If I'm so tight that I can't afford $9.99, I can't really afford $5.99 either.
Then again, I'm mostly buying games I have already played and know I love. If I were just taking a flyer on unknown games just to see what they're like, I might feel differently.
edit: I do feel that expansions that aren't the most OMG fantastic ones should be sold for either $5.99 or bundled in to any game that goes for $9.99 though. A great many expansions don't really do a lot, and some are just glorified patches or have maybe one tiny benefit or add nothing of note.
