It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Lhademmor: I'm joining the whine choir. I just bought Tex Murphy: Under A Killing Moon, but the download is of 1,3 GB, and my only option is through my browser - which keeps timing out before completion.
I've tried using DownTheMall! but when resuming these timed-out downloads, I get a 403.
Jesus fucking Christ, first the site was down so I couldn't download my games - now the site is up and I STILL can't download my games!
Have you tried Free Download Manager?
GIVE US OUR Games!!! Rawwrrrr *rattles cage*
hope they fix it soon, I get to like 95% of any download on http and then I get 'connection refused' or 'access forbidden' on any game, and I can't resume even with a new download link.
Yeah, I need to downloader for Painkiller. Only game I can't download right now.
I just picked up BG yesterday and I cannot download the damn game. Download manager is inop and the freaking browser download only gives me HTTP 500 errors. Hell I cannot even log on 9 out of 10 times without getting a HTTP 500 error. This is some of the poorest customer service I've seen. Maybe you guys should have stayed in beta. At least your site and the actual downloading of games worked.

I can't get it to work with GOG. It needs a direct download link and simply dragging the "download using browser" link doesn't work. It gets "file not found"
EDIT: Disregard that, Firefox did the trick. Sometimes makes me wonder why I stick with Chrome...

EDIT 2: It stopped at 85% and won't reconnect because of "Access denied. Invalid user name or password". GODDAMMIT GOG FIX YOUR DAMN DOWNLOADER, I CANNOT STAND THE SUSPENSE!

Try reading this guide on integrating FDM with Chrome. It works on GOG for me.
The top post/announcement should really include some advice for users in the short-term. For example, "get Free Download Manager and definitely DON'T try downloading anything through your browser". It's irresponsible for GOG to take away the Downloader without offering any reasonable workaround.
I haven't used a download manager in ~10 years, and didn't realize they were still useful. I'm downloading BG for the third time now (first Firefox, then Chrome, now FDM). Thanks to the posters above for the help.

EDIT: Never mind. I got the same "access denied" message mentioned by Laddie above.

I'm pulling Spellforce right now and there was no option for down loader (even though I had it up and ready) so it's still down.

I'm on DSL so I can pull 3 gigs in about three hours but still prefer the security of being able to resume broken downloads because we pay per byte downloaded here in Zealand.

But meh, as long as I get a game that I can back up to disk that isn't dependent on a client with a constant connection, this was the best alternative....and for this title, the best price as well.

I used FlashGet for Evil Genius last night (1.3 GB) I got three disconnects and was able to pick up right where I left off by pausing and unpausing the download. Just right click the "download from browser" and copy the link into FlashGet to get started.

I got fed up, man. I was pulling Spellforce at less than dial-up speed so went and installed Internet Download Manager. It will integrate with all browsers but it's just less confusing to blow the dust off IE8 because it works best with that.
Now I'm pulling that 2 gig file at around 6 megs a second with option to resume broken downloads. =D
You can get it from CNET Downloads.2 gigs in less than an hour is pretty friggin' good. ;)

Im very happy, i just finish the paypal transaction to buy Beyond Good And Evil from GOG
and im downloading right now with FlashGET at my max dl speed. ITS NOT NEEDED
ANY KIND OF GOG DOWNLOADER, stop complaining guys, install firefox, flashget and
the addon flashgot and you can download using the flashget download manager.

OF COURSE THE LINKS EXPIRES IN SOME SORT OF TIME ITS BECAUSE SECURITY
ISSUES, but if you dont have planned download the whole game, you can easy stop
any time your download, and resume any time or another day, is too easy, just go to
your control panel of your account and try to download your game again, get the new
url-link and copy, cancel and go to flashget. click on properties of the stopped download
and replace your yesterday old-link for the fresh new one working. Click on start and
magic!!

Greets to all GOG staff from Argentina.
Well, looks like browser downloading DOES support download manager resume functions. Hell, never mind the downloader, I've got FreeDownloadManager!
