It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

McNastyPrime: I can't seem to get FDM or downthemall to download the game files at all.

I've tried starting the download in the browser, copying the download link to the download manager and resuming but it's not happening.

Any ideas on what I'm missing?

I've got 3 games that I just bought that I cannot download.
This might or might not help:

Go to this page
DownThemAll
to install it on Firefox like an addon.
Once installed, restart the browser.
Go to GOG, log in. Click on the game you want to download, left-click on download using browser.
A dialog should appear, asking you whether to "save file" or "DownThemAll!"
Choose DownThemAll! Another dialog appears, click on the folder to the right on the line where it says save files in. Choose the folder and then say start.

If you get an error 403, it means the server was to busy at the moment the programm was searching for the file. So click again on Download using browser. This time a new option should appear, "dTa OneClick!" Use this one this time. If it still doesnt work, repeat. Once it finds the file, it shouldn't be a problem anymore. It won't break up, and if you break it up, you'll probably be able to resume.

Turjake: What disappoints me the most is the fact that GOG spent two years in beta, and when they finally launch the new site with supposedly full functionality, their downloader stops working. What they were doing during those two years of beta if not planning how to make the transition as smoothly as possible, is a mystery to me. Doesn't seem very professional at all.

Now I can live without the official downloader - I have a fast connection and I can use other programmes if I must. But if a company that specializes in digital distribution of computer games is unable to provide their customers with a working downloader, well, that's just not very professional. And the lack of communication isn't helping either.

That being said, GOG's idea is still brilliant and I will keep supporting them. I just hope that someday they'll win back the respect I used to have for them. Getting the new site to work as well as the beta did would be helpful.

And maybe the forum won't eat this post, or somehow combine it with my previous posts...
*this--- game-breaker
Come on guys, one of the great things of this service is that the older games will run on less-then-ideal hardware. I'm relying on you guys to get my my gaming fix away from home, but downloading 1.5GB through wifi on a laptop is just not possible. Get this downloader fixed!

Thank you! Your instructions were quite simples and precises! It worked!
I agree with everyone else here: Get the downloader fixed! The Adobe Air downloader worked well enough, I don't know why they (seemingly) discontinued it. I've tried to download Under A Killing Moon 3 times now and each time my browser crashed or I got disconnected and had to start over.

However, I finally got DownThemAll! in Firefox and it seems to be working well. I just right-clicked on the Download link and chose "Save link with DownThemAll!" after installing the add-on.
Another example where having unhappy customers could of been avoided by keeping us informed before we made purchases. Due to my unstable internet the downloader was the only way for me to download games off gog in the past, I just purchased 2 of the games in the weekend sale and nowhere was it shown that the downloader was not currently working.

Maybe a Service status window on the homepage to show current problems gog are working on or a message on the purchase games page before the transaction is complete would have been very helpful.

I think customers of online digital download sites have a right to know that products they purchase will not be able to be downloaded, its like handing someone in a shop a wad of cash and not receiving anything in return
I have been a big supporter of GOG, but things like the downloader foul up is making it very hard to defend them.
I agree that the downloader needed to be replaced (Don't get me started on how Adobe Air sucks) but once again, Gog has mishandled the situationt.
Hey, how about a little professionalism, guys.....
looking forward to the DLer working. Finally bought Arcanum!

kalirion: Just right clicking on the link in your account library view doesn't get you the right one. You actually have to start the download in the browser, then copy the link the browser is using for the active download. Stop the browser download, and paste the link in the download manager of your choice. Repeat each time you want to resume - all download managers worth their salt allow you to change the URL of a file in progress.
Thanks man! I'm aware of that, but it seems that there is some other reason why it is not working...

I have also just purchased Arcanum and have started downloading it. The download speed at the moment is wavering around 40 kbps. Is that normal? Also, I'm not sure I understand some of the recent posts. Is there currently some problem with downloading from GOG? I don't want to leave the computer on over night downloading only to find out it has stuffed up halfway through.
Well, that was a waste of 3 hours. Set DownThemAll to get Baldurs' Gate. 1.7GB... It gets to 95%, my connection (not the most stable at the best of times) hiccups, and the download will no longer resume. 403 - forbidden.

Bugger. :(

Um, you haven't been reading any of the instructions here on how to resume downloads, have you....

It's possible that the system GOG has to prevent unauthorized downloads is blocking the resuming of downloads. I didn't have that problem though.
I have the same problem. I can't resume, I keep getting:

Request failed. The server has forbidden access to the item.

Even using the instructions provided with FDM and other download managers i've tried.
