It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

A little help, guys! I paused my downloader this morning when Witcher 2 was sitting at 7800mb. I now restarted the download, but it counted backwards to 6300mb and now is ticking up again. But I only have 2 gigabytes of data in the folder where it is saving the files. Where is the rest? Did the download bug completely and I should delete the whole thing and start over of what? My speeds are only 50-60KB/s, so if I have to do that, I will have another three days of downloading ahead of me, which is simply unacceptable.

EDIT: there are 109 .download files in the folder. How can that be? Since they go to 51 megabytes, that's only 5500 megabytes of data. Where's the other four gigabytes?

EDIT32: Yep. I lost six gigabytes of data. Why? Nobody knows, it seems. What is this - 2004 and the launch of Steam? Damn it, it will take me 2 full days to download that data again. Fantastic service you have going on here, CD Project.

I`ve just downloaded The Witcher 2 but when I click on INSTALL nothing happens, is this a firewall issue?

AtrophyOffline: Can't log in at all with the GOG downloader. I click on the login button and nothing happens. Tried a few suggestions from these forums but to no avail. Also it says I'm offline for some reason.

Pretty sure I got the newest version.
I have the exact same problem. I'm using Windows XP with the latest downloader (0.9.0.1372 )

Just to add my name to list of people having problems with the downloader. It wont' let me login to it, saying that i have entered an incorrect e-mail address or password.

At the same time, the bottom left of the downloader window shows me that I'm online, but idle.

This is a new problem for me, it worked fine over the weekend when I pre-downloaded Witcher 2, and it downloaded and installed Gothic 2 for me with no apparent problems at the same time. It was only whne i went back to it yesterday to activate witcher 2 that I saw the problem.

Also, when i tried it just now, it performed some kind of update, so i have version 0.9.30 it seems. I still can't login though.
GoG Downloader is a piece of trash. Not only would it refuse to start the Witcher 2 install(even if started as Admin) but then it removed it because it had an error the third time I started the application, now the piece of junk won't even start! WTF!

*applauds*
The Downloader works perfectly for me. Must be something screwed up in your systems.
...just to follow up on my last post, I seem to have got the downloader to work by simply adding one of my existing games (from My Account) to the downloader, this opened it through a different route, and i can open it now. Result!

Now, let's see if i can get this Witcher 2 to work... :p

AstralWanderer: Here's a radical suggestion GOG...
+1 for this!
Hey...

Could it be possible to put goodies support on GoG downloader? I mean, downloading soundtrack, etc, directly from GoG Downloader, like any game?

AstralWanderer: Here's a radical suggestion GOG - why not drop the download manager altogether and instead work on making your download system function with all other browsers and download managers out there? Most web browsers are perfectly capable of resuming interrupted downloads, when allowed to.

And this is the nub of the problem - the only reason people can't resume interrupted downloads at the moment is because you aren't allowing them - if a download is paused for even a second, any attempt to access that URL is subsequently rejected with an HTTP 403 (Forbidden) error code.

You don't have to do this (and for a couple of weeks after the fake site closure you didn't - which meant that browsers and download managers worked OK) and it would be far more convenient to your customers if you just allowed them to use the software they prefer, rather than imposing a utility that requires extra support from you, and extra hassle for everyone else.

If you want to guard against abuse of the download URLs, there are several ways to do so without causing customer inconvenience such as (a) allowing access to the URL from one IP address for a longer period of time (say one day); (b) embedding randomly chosen username/passwords in the URL; (c) checking HTTP cookies to ensure only logged in users can access the URL or (d) using HTTPS and encrypting everything.

The current download system is not only needlessly paranoid but also counter to GOG's philosophy of allowing users to do what they want with their purchases.
I agree completely!
My Downloader didnt log in to my account. Any possible resons or ideas to fix this?
It worked when I tried to download and install The Witcher 2. That's enough for me.
Quick question, I used the GOG downloader to fetch the Witcher 2. After a while the download completed and everything was green. However, when I tried to run the launcher I got a message the files were corrupted and that I needed to re-download.
Isn't the downloader supposed to verify the integrity and fix such problems? Am I doing something wrong?

You're using the new downloader, yes?
