1) regifting is the way to go on those.

2) Probably not. I've got a hot wife, stepson, and a little one on the way. I wouldn't want to leave them behind.
1) Is the giveaway for Portal. It could well be :p

2) If the dimension portal was for an alternate version of this world, i'd definitely step through, because my luck would be the opposite, and i'd have money and women with ease.
I'm in!

2: If my wife is with me, and she wants to go too, then we would go. I would never enter alone, for the possibility of not seeing her ever again.
No, I would fix it.

I come from the Net.
BUMP!
Small bit of trivia. Amnesia: The Dark Descent was initially called Unknown.

I would not jump through the portal. I'm pretty happy with my life here. There's also the fact that I would leave many close people behind. In fact I'm surprised of how many people say they would just go through
hmm..well part of me would be curious as to see where it goes and where it leads too but the other part of me that is into self-preservation on the other hand would not want to take the risk of possibly being trapped in a horrid place with no means to escape or meeting my demise, so I more then likely would send someone else in my place and see what happens, if no one else is around to act as volunteers then I would toss a small object in first like a rock or a small fuzzy creature if there is no instant death and the portal is still open then I would go through albeit hesitantly.
BUMP!
Another BUMP!

Ummm... The winners have been selected, notified and rewarded a couple of days ago already. Then again - I still encourage everyone to share their thoughts on the subject ;P.

Well, I've not seen any reference to the closing in the entire thread. Maybe you could edit the OP, indicating the fact, to avoid confusions like mine? ;)

Meanwhile, congrats to the winners and thanks again, Vestin!

I, too thought it was still open.

Who won anyway? And what he won?

Let me strike a balance between remaining enigmatic and providing some insight:
1* there were 3 winners (initially, 2 effectively):
one who would certainly jump, one who would certainly NOT and one for whom the choice would be extremely emotionally taxing, though curiosity would prevail.
2* There were 3 prizes, with 2 planned initially and the last one being discovered by me literally a day before I've decided the contest should be over. All of them were from a single source, no two were the same, they were not GOG games.

I'll leave it up to the winners to reveal themselves, if they wish to do so.

I find it amusing that, when you think about, I could've made all of the above up and without asking everyone involved - there would be no way to tell. Then again - I do hope people have the bare minimum of trust vested in me to not believe that I would be capable of such twisted (and pointless) shenanigans...

It's not that we don't trust you but the only people who knew that the giveaway is over was you and the three winners.

I know. I wanted to wrap it up sometime this weekend and did not expect the thread to get bumped beforehand ;P. Well - there you have it: it's over.

I do have to admit that the submissions were really diverse and thought-provoking, so I had the hardest of times deciding who the winners should be... Then again - that's what I get for not even letting MYSELF in on what the rules are.
